  • Clockwerk's Cogs pushing from the inside?

Is it just me or is this a known bug? Several times I've activated cogs from the very inside of them. It's really annoying, is this a bug or some kind of inteded fix?

Match IDs please. We can neither confirm nor reject the bug without evidence.

I'm just asking if anyone has experienced the same issue, instead of giving a Match ID for something that may just be my imagination.

Well, I never had anything like that in my games. But who knows, Clock is not a very popular pick so there may be a real bug occurring on rare occasions.

i played clockwerk a few times... didnt notice this, but iirc if u r pushed out, the cog will trigger and it might seem like what OP described

Well its easy reproduce able but ima not quite sure if its the same in DotA 1

            1. pick clock
            2. get level 4 cogs ( for the longer duration)
            3. create enemy hero
            4. use cogs near the enemy hero
            5. destroy one of the cogs (easiest is the bottom one)
            6. try to move outside right after destroying the bottom cog

Result : the middle cogs (the one closer to you) will push you outside

Expectation : cogs can't push from the inside (direction to center)

Even if you try to reenter the cog area on the same way (notice you try to move very close to the middle-line while reentering) you get pushed away by the cogs in the corners

If this is a bug, it could be related to the angle of detection

I already thought it wasn't like this in DotA1 but i cant check it by myself

^I believe I saw some discussion on that previously... I don't have time to search for the thread right now though.

The bug is Aoe trigger of push is waaaaaaaaaaayyyy too big, and has been reported billion of time. -which of course lead to unallowing people to escape from cog after breaking one as you just stated-
Mb even top 10 older known bug of dota2.

Edit: In some specific case, cog could push you when inside in dota1 (spectre + spectral dagger and run out from inside)

I've experienced this, caused a game loss. Reported it. Then the changelog said it "fixed many issues with power cogs".
When it happened again, I haven't picked clock since.

                    pretty perfect example.

If you get pushed or dragged out of the cogs it will activate on you. Like force staff or batrider lasso.

i think windrunner used force staff on alch... but well, that cant be called proof anyway. need match id or repro steps

                            • #15
It's a wrong proof anyway because this bug is related to basic movement not by forcing you out of a fully placed cog area.

If you get froced or dragged out of a fully placed cog you always get pushed by the cogs anyway.

It's about destroying 1 cog and try to move(walk) outside through this open i call it "portal" or "gate"

Edit: btw in this video alchi got forced by clock or someone else in the enemy team to !get! pushed inside his team (this was just a big play nothing else)
