  • Void Backtrack bug? (Dynamic healing instead of pre-heal)

Unless Backtrack was changed and I didn't notice, shouldn't it be a pre-heal? I tested it by ulting Void a bunch of times with Lina (and refresh command) and wouldn't you know it, he didn't take damage occasionally (this might be due to the refresh command because I didn't notice backtrack animation here). He also didn't take damage from ult occasionally after a single autoattack, where he should have (Ultimate - autoattack) health missing. He also sometimes backtracked the autoattack.

I searched and didn't see a topic on this also.

EDIT: Also, not necessarily bug but unintended / oversight.

I'm pretty sure that this is intended, due to the mechanic being lame and having near to no balance reasons. I bet Ice was simply to lazy while coding.

EDIT: Btw, afaik it's not even healing. It get's completly mitigated - there is simply no damage dealt and no heal done.

      this is intended.
the pre-heal was only in dota 1 because of engine limitations
in dota 2 backtrack works like a dodge, that can also negate spell dmg

NO... Just NO! It wasn't pre-heal due to engine limitations!!! There are countless dynamic heals, such as dispersion!!! Abbaddon's shield!

Anyway. This was discussed previously --> http://dev.dota2.com/showthread.php?t=59897

Well, true. It was not a pre-heal due to engine limitations. It was a heal due to engine limitations.
EDIT: Someone could read this wrong, thinking I mean, it's not a pre-heal.
You could simply not avoid damage in a proper way in Dota 1.

              "Since Dota 2"

Yea, that's what the question was referring to. It was mostly wondering if this was an inconsistency or intended.

              Thank you Wyn-Rider.

                It's a pre-heal because icefrog is lazy.

Backtrack works completely different in dota 2. It actually negates the damage. You won't lifesteal when attacking void if he backtracks it.
