    I don't have DotA 1 installed but I'm almost positive that if you were checking out enemy inventories/level/ current HP, etc... you could only do so while you had vision of the target. i.e. I scroll up to top lane, click on enemy clinkz and check his items. However if clinkz goes out of sight I lose my selection on him and can no longer check him out until he comes back into vision and I re-click him. In DotA 2 you retain selection regardless of him going in/out of vision.

    Repro:
    1. Spawn enemy hero (or have a friend help)
    2. While enemy hero is visible click on them so you have their HP/Inventory visible in your UI
    3. Move the enemy hero so they are no longer visible (out of your teams sight)
    Result: Once you've selected an enemy hero/unit, regardless of losing vision you can check out their inventory & status.

    Expected: You lose control and no longer see any information displayed about the enemy hero in your UI

    I don't believe that when you have an enemy selected and they're out of line of sight that their inventory actually updates if they get a new item, or lose/gain EXP. That would be even worse, hopefully someone can spare a moment to test this.

    Confirmed in Dota1 you lose selection and no longer see any items stats hp mana etc w/e of that enemy hero

        this was discussed long time ago, as it's fairly easy to notice... but i think no one bothers to change it anyway. not quite an issue i suppose.
