I was wondering, what is the point of the gameplay bugs section if most of the bugs instead of getting fixed in dota 2 are actually changed in WC3 DotA to match dota 2, shouldn't this forum actually redirect to here since that would be the correct place? After all most of the "bugs" in dota 2 are actually features and it is WC3 DotA that is bugged as fuck.

Are you kidding me? There are 2 changes that I saw in 6.78 that got changed to fit. Don't overreact.
EDIT: Ok, 4, still nearly nothing. If you think I've closed or deleted a post unjustified, feel free to PM me and I'll explain it to you/discuss it with you further.

2?
AoE exp, Batrider's vision, Armlet, Ancients backdoor protection.
Repicking was probably a hassle in dota 2 to remove the hero from the pool.
These bugs got fixed thanks to dota 2, how many of the things we believe are bugs in dota 2 are actually features and actually bugs in WC3 instead? IMO we should report all as WC3 bugs and if they are features after we get confirmation we can report them as dota 2 bugs.

And how many bugs were fixed since 2011 that were Dota 2 bugs only due to lacking parity with Dota 1? 1000? More?
EDIT: Just want to say: some changes to Dota don't turn around everything. There are propably 100 times mor changed in Dota 2 to fit Dota 1 then to other way round.Last edited by Kryil-; 05-30-2013, 08:37 AM.If you think I've closed or deleted a post unjustified, feel free to PM me and I'll explain it to you/discuss it with you further.

I don't really see the big deal. IceFrog can change whatever he wants in either game. You are also completely correct; all we do on this board is report the differences between them. Some people can't do volunteer work without complaining about how the board works. People get ahead of themselves and think they are special for reporting bugs on a developer forum. Drives some people crazy enough to get them banned too >_>

what are all of you complaining about?
I can't bother to find source, but valve basically stated the bugs that are taking forever to fix (but are easy to fix) are intentionally being left in to test balance. Eventually either dota 2 gets patched or dota 1 gets patched depending on which balance they like more.
no matter what they start as dota 2 bugs though. So the point of this forum remains intact.

I'm sure being able to get mega-kills on Meepo with Caustic Finale is left in to test balance, amirite?

That is not a 1 line code fix like the ancient backdoor. It does not fit my qualifier of "easy to fix" so no, it is not left for balance /autistic

Do I wish they fixed all these bugs in a timely manner? Absolutely. Do I still like the overall experience of dota 2 compared to dota 1? Absolutely.
Is there anything I can do to change Valve/Icefrog's bugfixing style? I doubt it.

Dota2 is SUPPOSSED to be an exact duplicate of Dota1 in IceFrogs own words. Now, that doesnt mean that he hasnt run into some real interesting fuck ups in the coding that he thought would make for some cool changes. The ideal goal is to have two version of the same exact game, that work identically, One for those of us who perfer a new engine, and one for those of us who want to stick with wc3 mod version. In any case, we are pointing out instances of nonconformism between the two version, however we consider it, the effect is the same.
And looking at the most recent changelog (150 changes? and two new heros) I think I can guess where Frogs time has been devoted to if not to fixing the parity issues already present.
But I do wish he would make some dedicated parity programmers or bug fixers... Its quite annoying when we expect one function to occur and another keeps occurring since THE BEGINNING OF THE BETA PHASE...
