  • Fix Ward terrain

Often when you click a Ward on a place that looks like a level plateau that should be wardable, you get that obnoxious message about illegal Ward placement. The place I've had the worst experience with this is the cliff above the top rune. Sometimes I have to click 5 times, it seems you can't be anywhere near the edge of the cliff, which is counterintuitive because the Ward looks easily small enough to fit there.

This is a problem especially when you're in a hurry, like when enemies are around or a team fight is developing that you need to get to. It also occasionally results in placing 2 Wards on top of each other when you're spam clicking to get the damn thing to stick.

You need to either make the Ward model size smaller, or shrink the unplaceable terrain closer to the edges. Or if they need to be unplaceable there for some reason, at least show an obvious effect, like rougher terrain where it is unplaceable.

For the placing two wards down point, you might want to support: http://dev.dota2.com/showthread.php?t=27407 http://dev.dota2.com/showthread.php?t=11933

For overall ward ideas there were also these: http://dev.dota2.com/showthread.php?t=18434 http://dev.dota2.com/showthread.php?t=866
To add to your three suggestions. All are very good

if you compare the ward spot in question to the wc3 dota counterpart it is already way easier to place the ward.
ofc those places should be improved on the long run. but for now this is en par with wc3 dota and arguably intended.
Make sure to read the Forum Rules as well as the stickied Threads of the Forum Section you are posting in.

      Contributions i'd like to highlight:
      My Suggestion: Coaching System
      My Sticky: Intended Changes List
My Challenge: Completely Fixed Hero Challenge: Skywrath Mage

Then the second half of my suggestion, making it visually obvious which terrain you cannot place a Ward on, solves the problem without changing the gameplay from WC3 DotA.
