            +1 on this.

Just so that you don't have to wait hoping a teammate responds to make clear what lanes the people already in game have selected. Many a game have been made more difficult because of unexpected, unforseen lane choices that resulted in improper subsequent picks.

I will mercilessly add to my ignore list anyone that makes an incredibly annoying signature.

This is a really importante thing. The lanes have a high probability to be messed up if your allies don't comunicate while picking. With map vision during pick phase, most of the problems in regard to this would be solved.

                      Pls Valve, we beg you.

Please Valve, this is something that should have been added ages ago ;_;.
I always have to ask "is XXX hero going mid/jungle etc", which really delays picks, and causes problems when no one answers.
Quite often I have assumed mid is free, then taken a mid, then upon entering the game seeing someone else mid, so get forced to go to one of the sidelanes (which is less than ideal if you end up dual laning as invoker or as two melees or something).
Especially with the mute system, you will sometimes get no response at all, or if you're lucky a few "Well Played!".
With map visibility during picks you can clearly see who is going where, which is how it also used to be in Dota 1.

Could have a button to dismiss / recall the hero pick screen as required. Could also be useful if you wanted to add -noherolimit to private lobbies.

To pretend that everyone would answer your question is just naïve. it's a lot easier to answer the question yourself when the information should be easy to access.
No, fuck having it as an option. It should just be on by default. There is no reason for it not to be.

50% of the games noone answers what lanes they are on, and in those games it also quite frequently happens that lanes aren't logically attributed to their picks, meaning you just can't know what lane you have to pick for
