  • Towers remain invulnerable until you get vision of them

    Reproduction:

1: Pick a hero and push tier one tower
2: Try to attack tier two tower

Expected: The tier two tower can now be targetted

Result: Tower cannot be targetted until it is first seen

This bug is particularly annoying when you just want to send in summons to bash tower, but you have to wait until you reach high ground to do so. There's no reason for this, either.

I believe it's a side effect of Valve's way to prevent map hacks. Basically, anything in the FOW doesn't get sent to your client before it comes out of the fog. By doing this, map hacks become useless because you will just see a empty map filled with stationary heroes at the last position they were seen before they entered the fog again.

I don't think it's a bug, actually it's way cooler that way, and of course, the above poster got it right.

It's a big fat lie. (no offense to the poster)
We can even see the trees that get cut beyond our vision. Watch the enemy jungle when there is a Furion as your enemy on the other team. You can see that some trees suddenly turning into stumps, even when you don't have any sort of vision of those areas.

I cannot say whether if every information is being sent, or just a portion is being sent and the tree information is "accidentally" included within the informations that are sent. But there is this fact that trees being alive/dead information is constantly up-to-date regardless of the vision.

Long story short, +1 to OP. Possibly can be fixed without allowing any exploits.
But, just for your information, it is already on the Gameplay Bugs list as Annoyance: http://dev.dota2.com/showthread.php?t=62249
