  • Mid towers not quite equidistant from the ramps.

So I had a sneaking suspicion that I could walk further up the Dire ramp before being shot by the tower, so I set out to test it.

I took Tidehunter and used his Q as a visual cue for range.

In the 2 following screenshots, I got as close as possible before the tower began shooting at me, highlighted my Q ability to show its range, and then took a screenshot.

    Dire Side.

    Radiant Side.

So 2 things you can see:

On the Dire Side, I could go about 2 steps farther before I was shot by the tower.
The Dire Tower also seemingly has shorter range, going by Tidehunter's Q. I'm willing to accept this as a camera skew, though.

So because I don't think the Dire Tower actually has shorter range than the Radiant Tower, it's probably placed slightly too far back. Or the Radiant Tower is too close.

Bumping this because I retried it with Leshrac. His Q range reaches exactly to the base of the tower for Dire, which made this more apparent.

    Something
    fishy
    is going on here.

They're not supposed to be equidistant from the ramps.

It's a symmetry issue, so I'll leave that to the developers to decide. That's why I reported it.

Nevermind that it's also a balance issue.

If you're playing on the Radiant side, you can dive their river bank further without fearing the tower.
Conversely, if you're Dire, you have to run further to get to safety.

There are quite a few gameplay-affecting asymmetries. About 3 or 4 I know, probably a lot more.

Yeah, its not really a big deal in general I'd say, but it may be intentional. Dota has always had a little asymmetry going on - makes it a little more interesting me thinks, and it all seems to work out fine in the end from my perspective.
