    High ping to USW

So I noticed that my ping has increased to US West recently and I decided to traceroute. Here are the results:
    Code:

Is the huge jump when I hop to Level3 normal and expected? Even my connection to US East servers is around 100ms in game. Just in case it matters, my ISP is ATT. Any help is much appreciated!

So it's been getting increasingly worse here in Vancouver. Every game is plagued with a ping of 700ms or so for 80% of the game. Some times, very rarely, there's clarity for a few seconds and then it immediately goes back to this incredibly frustrating delay.

I used to have a ping of around 55. Now I've ruined at least 2 games for other people. I'm just not going to play anymore until I at least ring up my ISP and see if there's anything they advise me to do.

I am also getting the "Warning! Status Effect using a 2D Texture for a Volume Texture!" message in my console.

US East used to be fine for me, but lately I get pings over 800ms.
The traceroute shows a strange spike right at the end. Can someone please help fix this problem?

Eu West ping fluctuating between 66ms and 100ms. If it can just stay at 85ms (even if it was constantly 50 for the best part of six months until a few weeks ago) rather than going up and down like a yoyo that would be more playable.

I have the same problem in US East. The lag spikes are really annoying and I cant play any Dota 2. My ping goes as high as 1000 for some time and then it comes down to normal again. I'm surprised nobody is addressing the problem.

I (personally) haven't seen the same issues on US East (I only MM to US West), but my friends on the same ISP, in the same city, have described the same issues on US East.

Edit: After some contact with my ISP, it does look like it could be an issue with Shaw. That said, it seems like Shaw has a direct pipe to the Valve datacenters (by the tracert), so the two might be able to communicate regarding the lag spikes/dropped packets. Right now US West is sitting at 130ms ping, where it's normally 40ms. US East is as high as 220ms, rather than 100ms.

I haven't tested US East if it's better, but playing on US West right now is downright useless. Friends of mine have also been complaining, so it could be a routing issue between Shaw (our ISP) and the Valve servers.

Well I do not know anyone who has better ping on EU East than EU West. I checked with all my friends who play dota. We all live inside a perimeter of 100km from Wienna where EU East is located ... and its not worth queuing there.

EU West and East ping has increased over the past few weeks, seemingly for most people. I'm in the UK. EUW used to be around 50ms, high of around 75ms. Now it's 80ms with highs over 100+ms. Same increase is relatively true for EUE making that server now too high ping to bother queuing on.

Routing needs to be looked at for these servers. It's either that or recent patches (6.81b) have increased latency.

edit: and seriously, are there not enough people queueing from the UK, France and Germany for us to get a 'EU even more West' server in one of these countries?
