  • alright but actually is east just getting ddosed or something? every ranked game i've played tonight has been terminated due to poor network conditions and this is NOT an isolated occurrence. these issues have been chronic almost all of december and i don't know if any information has been released regarding the cause but it's become extremely frustrating

    • Super high lag on USE again, third day in a row. Pretty awesome.

      • I've noticed that around 12am and 3 am I always get lag: usually around 300-400 ms. It lasts for 5-10 minutes usually. I noticed that other people (from Canada) get the same lag at the same time for the same length of time. I live in Michigan. Could the location be a factor?

How do you do a traceroute to the U.S East server?

          • I'm willing to play with 300 ping if you just give us a region lock option so I don't have to play with Mexicans every game.

                  • the ping your console is a round trip ping, I believe. if you type -ping in your chat box you'll see a much lower value.

long story short: different ping commands have different methods of calculating your ping and so give different results.

                    • Is anyone having major issues finding a server for us east?

                      Comment

                      • Yes, we all do.
And if after 5-6 mins we find one, immediately after battle starts we get 3500+ pings and get disc, followed by safe to leave.
Retarded as hell, and valve cares less.
But yea, they ban people for saying the F word...

I'd love to learn what godly method would be used to find the "one-way ping".

Anyhow, my question was why my pings to the server outside the game are ~40ms, while my in-game pings are 100+

I guess it does make some sense that the ping is crap though, for some reason it routes from Florida through California, back to Texas, to reach Miami and go to Virginia... Go figure...

the net graph gives u a still different value.

the ping in your cmd/console gives u a different value from the other ones as well.
