  • Auto-disconnect Singapore - ISP: Starhub

    Hi all,

I recently upgraded my broadband service to that of Starhub's Maxinfinity fibre broadband and started getting this auto-disconnect error which seams to have plagued Dota players for months now.

My question is if its a router configuration error or my ISP's fault.

The problem starts off on the very first game be it as a spectator or a player i hit the in game loading screen with the Dota 2 logo and it freezes out, i have to alt-tab and restart the program.

After "warming up" dota 2, i can enter games but typically get 2 or 3 auto-disconnects at the start of the game and its smooth sailing from there.

If its a bad day i can go up to 7 DCs in a row.

The IP address that is shown in red can differ and the ports are different at times too.

Any help with this issue is much appreciated.

Strong supporter of Dota since 2006,
    Ron

Still haven't been able to resolve my issue of auto-disconnecting. Anyone else with Starhub and a NVG-N5402SP router? Anyone else on Maxinifinity and auto-disconnecting?

Glad to see I'm not the only one with this problem. Exactly same circumstances as you, signed up for Starhub's fibre broadband, and the disconnects(with the same symptoms) started. Are you running a wireless bridge as well? I'm suspecting that might be the crux of this issue.

Its definitely a wireless issue as I tried direct connection to the router and had no issues at all but i don't think i'm on a wireless bridge (one router on to the modem). Called d-link and it wasn't very helpful, seems like the only solution is to change the router.

Thanks for the info. Still hoping there is a fix for this or some other workaround.

Did anyone have these problems on a different prior subscription? I was using maxonline and it was fine.

I was using maxonline previously too and it did not had any problems. Only after the new one it had problems =( tho using a cable fixed the problem, its all the way out in my living room.

Anyone in this thread who manages to resolve this problem please share. Thanks.
