    • It sucks so much!
specially in ganks it goes down to 35 fps from 59-60
Even while not ganking fps continuously keeps going from 57-60.

I lowered my settings down to 1024*768..still the same problem
      So..that proves it isn't my pc's problem

I can play LOL , Fifa 13 and other games maxed out.
I noticed the similar problem in HON..and hence i quit.

      I hope this gets fixed..

      • bump please..i think is a directx problem...the recent patch forces us to render the game under directx 11 for those whose graphic driver supports it..that explains the framerate drop...but if i enter launch option of -nod3d9ex .it crashes the game although i get improvement in fps to 50 .my gpu is ati 5870m..any help please?

Lighty, use -nod3d9ex launch option. It will boost your framerate, i have gt520m and i'm having 60 fps mostly, with rare drops to 40. Also, set everything on low, except texture quality and maybe shadows, gt540m is just too old and weak for modern games.
It works, -nod3d9ex works for me, although I am receiving 900~1000 packets. My framerate at least is back to normal using the dx9 renderer.

sPiRaLGaLaXy, This patch fucked up my game too, but using the -nod3d9ex works.

                  • Hi guys,

I've now been playing dota2 for weeks on my MBP Retina 15" :

At first i've gone crazy about the settings, and still had HUGE drops making it unplayable and big sound related problems.
Then i disabled In game Steam, and TADA, i'm now playing with NO major fps issues (but a few crashes bar rarely in game).

I'm playing now with all settings close to max, and have a constant 60 fps (vsync is enabled).

Curious if it can help others,

                      Non-native English?

You said it's forcing you to run in DirectX 11 yet mentioned option that disables DirectX 9 Ex.

The only FPS issues I'm having are the game dropping to 30FPS on start; forcing me to either tab out to restore the framerate or wait 5-10 seconds and hope it resolves itself.

Still, the game could run better. I don't think I'd keep a solid 120FPS if I had a 120Hz monitor despite using some of the best hardware out in present time (i7-3770k @4.5GHz & GTX 780). In my testing the game ran uncapped with nothing going on (game paused even) at around 160-220 depending on using D3D9Ex or D3D9. I have a feeling if a ton of things were going on it'd drop below 120. But, as it stands, I happily play at 60FPS without any framerate drops during intense action.
Matchmaker was tweaked, but sure as hell wasn't anywhere close to fixed:

It helped. I've got normal fps now and no crashes from using the -nod3d9ex
Hopefully it will be fixed then I can use in game steam again, thx mate. We should update these small fixes to the main page.

                        • Good to read.

I dont use the -nod3d9ex, it's a "must-do" on an mac ? I've seen it advised for windows.

                          • My game randomly (every 7-10 days or so) takes a FPS dump to where it is unplayable. 20fps at normal settings, can squeeze out 25 fps if I put everything to Low.

Just entered -nod3d9ex and it boosted me to 50 fps instantly. Thanks for the help ITT.
