could be that dota is overworking you system and it's auto shutting off. Is the laptop really hot when you play dota?

Whenever a PC turns off hard without any particular lag or crash, it's usually CPU overheating.

Download some CPU monitors and see what the temp is. You can also control fan speed/warning temp/shut down temp at the BIOS.

Is it at the dashboard? Try spectating a game before doing anything that has previously shut down your PC. I've had this problem inexplicably for months, spectating or being in a game prevents it.

                    Try this: (for Windows 7)
Go to control panel -> System and security -> Power options
                    Create a new power plan.
In the new power plan settings, go to advanced settings.
Find "Processor power management", under that set maximum processor state to something very low, like 10%.
Play dota 2 and check if your computer turns off again.

I had the same problems with Bastion, the above fixed it for me.
Make sure that whenever playing dota 2, your active power plan is the new one you made.

Since this doesn't have anything to do with the Test Client

I'm not scared to show my DOTABUFF Profile, man up people.

you're not the only one... system turns off once every 2-3 days for me too while spectating a game or playing or loading or something...
and everyday it "kicks" me and crashes ...and my pc is really powerful

Ok i tested it, regardless the CPU heat went down, still the pc turn off randomly, that make me think i fucked up the processor, but still it work fine with anyother other game(COD, CS:GO, BF ETC)
