  • Unable to Adjust Brightness

This is simply a bug report. I cannot adjust the brightness of my game. I am running in full screen mode as the interface mentions you should be.

The game is defaulting to the lowest setting and it is very dark indeed. It makes it somewhat difficult to play.

Interestingly when I run the game borderless window mode it is still not possible to adjust the settings, but the default brightness is at a different (and slighltly better) level.

I would be interested to know if this is a common problem and if this problem is known to the game developers.

It is a common problem, there are 2 ways to get around it however in your autoexe you can put the command mat_monitorgamma x.x
x.x being the number you want 1.6 being the brightest and 2.6 being the dullest. For windows it is suggested you use 2.2 and for Macs 1.6.
So it would look like this mat_monitorgamma 2.2

You can also change this in your video.txt which can be found in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\dota 2 beta\dota\cfg however this will need to be changed each time the game client is patched. The option to change is "setting.mat_monitorgamma" "2.6" Change it to the number I suggested earlier. You can play around with the numbers still you get a level you want.

      Thank you, that's extremely helpful.

This is something they should definitely get on if it is this common.
