  • Why are you able to buy 20+ couriers? (and feeding them)

    Hello Dota Community,
I have a urgent question about Feeding Couriers.

Our game just finished and our feeding gyro didn't wanted to play anymore so he decided its time to start feeding.
He sold all his items, started buying couriers and sending them towards the enemy's base.
(Everyone, except gyro, had a good game, even the supports had a decent amount of gold at that time.)

I just don't understand under which circumstance is is necessary to buy 20+ couriers in a single game?
Why would Dota allow such a thing?
Is there a new hero coming out that gets a bonus the more couriers we have fed? (salt)

I know we can't control the players actions in a game, but would it be so bad if we limit the amount of couriers you can buy?

Yes please, limit the amount of couriers you can purchase.

No, don't limit the amount of couriers you can purchase.

Yes, they should limit it, it is easy fix, limit should be per player, so like max 2 couriers pre player.

But this has been suggested so many times and nothing happend, no idea why...
Thank you IceFrog, Valve and Dota 2 team for everything you doing for Dota 2 community.

because Valve wants to keep the win rate of everyone at 50%

And taking away feeders would definitely increase the win rate for everyone.

Some people are not bad at dota. Some people are just incredibly unlucky.

plot twist: Feeders are actually valve employees.

To have a more general discussion, I don't understand why there is no permaban for trolling accounts.
There are people who play just to troll, even in ranked, playing against their own team. People who start buying couriers and feeding them from the start of the game. Players who buy courier and dont deploy it pretending they don't know how, who follow the carry in jungle just to steal his last hits, who use no skills except in their fountain, spamming chat with premade phrases etc. etc.
when you meet one of these is 100% lost.
They ruin the game for everyone. It's really easy to check about them and it would be really easy to ban them from Steam making them losing all their games and objects.

But Valve politics seems to be to keep them.

          Why?

I'm very close to abandon dota after a streak of such people. I lost the pleasure of the game, and I'll probably uninstall it next time I meet one. I hate wasting one our of life like that.
The worse thing is I can't abandon the game and must play for an hour in such conditions.

I played more ranked the last moths than pub because I wanted to avoid trolls but there are even more toxic, trolling players in ranked then in bloody pub.
There shouldn't be a permaban but a harder punishment then just ~3 troll low prior games and a better report system like CS:GO's Overwatch.
So that "neutral" players can decide if someone is trolling.

So, Valve decided to put a 2 min cooldown on couriers.

New Arc Warden Feature: Buy 6 couriers and use arcs ultimate on himself.. 12 Courier feed :kappa:
