  • Idea to balance the Dota map

Could we have a mirrored map, 2 roshan pits with a 50% chance of spawning in either one. Then we won't have a favored map preference and heroes won't have map weakness due to being on one side rather than another. It's so much easier saying it then it actually happening, but I really like this idea for balancing purposes

This has been required for a million times.

Sure, it'll make the competition between both sides more 'fair' -- in a way, but it isn't necessary a better way overall to improve gameplay experience given all those little differences are also a part of what makes dota a game that has depth to dive in to.

The map we currently have now is 'balanced' pretty much like the relation between odd numbers and even numbers.

Say if Radiant side is the odd numbers and the Dire side is the other, meaning Radiant is lost to Dire at 1 (2<1) and Dire is lost to Radiant at 3 (4>3), then Radiant continues to win back at where 5 versus 4 and so on.

There are countless small niches where either side win out the other.

So due to these niches proved to be too aplenty to efficiently, stably controlled (secured) as well as the real gameplay aspect will not be executed perfectly like a thoroughly scripted event, the map actually favors nor dooms neither side for their victory or defeat.

Besides, you could already find mirror dota in custom game.
