  • Lose MMR even if you win.

My friend was afk and got abandoned before first blood, I stayed until the end (game lasted 48:31); won that game and still lost mmr.
That system should be adjusted, because it's ridiculous.

Everyone in the party gets the default loss, just as the person abandoning. This is intended, probably to keep people from abandoning as it would mess with their party.
If you think I've closed or deleted a post unjustified, feel free to PM me and I'll explain it to you/discuss it with you further.

I know it's default, I can see that. But it shouldn't work like that.
Doesn't make sense behind the logic where I am punished even if I win.
Only way it does is if Valve doesn't want you to play with friends.

I thought Dota was friend oriented game, I guess I was wrong.

It's to prevent bullet catchers. People would dodge mmr loss by just queuing with a friend who doesn't care about mmr, or have a friend play on an alt account. If a game is being lost, the friend would take the abandon so that his team could leave without losing mmr for the lost game.

To prevent that, the entire stack will lose mmr if any of them abandon. So you can thank abusers for this.
        Please, just call me buny.

So by playing a game for 50 minutes and winning it is considered a dodge? And I am punished for it?
So I made my friend leave the game so I could play without him for 50 minutes (which could have been even me alone against 5 players)?
Answer is apparently is yes, 'cause that rule was made for every situation, obviously.
Which can only tell me that very poor effort and thinking was put in when this rule/system was made.
You have to be really ignorant if you believe this system is perfect; 'cause obviously someone does believe that, because this is not something that was implemented few days ago.

I don't think that system should be removed, but it definitely needs some adjustment.
For example: if you don't care you will leave too, if you care you will stay and play the game (which could probably mean you didn't plan to dodge mmr loss by ''making your friend leave match on purpose'').
Playing for 0 mmr is enough punishment where you must consider that not everyone has ''queued with a friend who doesn't care about mmr''. Not everyone is guilty.

Please tell me if that doesn't make any sense.
