  • Steam Controller

I wonder does anybody know, if it's in the works, to replace or add a game mode for Steam controller? Like I mean full use of Steam controller VS keyboard and mouse. I would like to play, with the touch pads vs Point and click. I think this game would be a good start, to paving a way for more games of the like.

I was thinking limitations, to the heroes like pivoting rotation (turning around). Human based heroes have feet, so there is a pivot and fast reaction times. Though A hero like Medusa may have different results. Snakes do not pitot like humans, so there is something to work with.

I'm looking at it like this, there are two pads, one for movement the other for attacking. The game can still offer the basic, right and left click actions. Though I am thinking more like, something to help build the controller skills. As there will need, to be a learning curve. (Steam controller pads are wide, so there needs to be center.) the controller pads offer a wide enough area to work with. Simply pressing a direction, won't get a whole lot of use. Movement based on a characters pivot, or center circle. Meaning some character cannot just, switch directions unless they are at a stand still. Defining the characters movement type, then building from there. I use Medusa because she's a snake kind of. Snakes curl to strike, from a center or weighted area (their curls). Also a snake's body would follow the head, so simply turning in place is unrealistic. So having Medusa stop before changing opposite directions, would make her more realistic. This is an example, one of many things that could be done. There could then also be a climb button, for getting over the rivers edge. I was thinking simple additions, like movement. Center point is the smallest area, a character can circle (running/walk in a circle). And attacking, aim your attacks with the gamepad. Hovering cursor to aim, for additional damage. Something like 33% added damage vs Auto attacking. Working this out, to fine tune and balance, would remake the DotA game I think. It is really interesting, to think about. Personally I like mouse and keyboard, though I would like to think, that controller would make the game better.
