  • [Request] AttackAggro filter

When attempting to build a Fly/Ground attack system where certain units can't attack ground or flying units respectively, I encountered some limitations which I will try to explain here.

First of all, the Order Filter is perfect to control direct attack orders where the player clicks on a air unit, we can currently catch this an perfectly disable/redirect this order.

However, there's the issue of handling autoattack acquisition, which because they aren't an order, they are way harder to handle.

To properly be able to control these auto-acquisitions, I had no option but to disable Acquisition Range (with SetAcquisitionRange(0)) & turn autoattack off with SetIdleAcquire(false), and basically re-build the autoattack, attack move and hold position attacks, to have control over which units are autoacquired by every creature in particular. But as you can imagine the self-made system feels pretty clumsy, as it uses think intervals and adds additional script-load to be executed on every unit.

Having any sort of filter to detect that a unit is attempting to acquire a target to attack it, before they start to Move to attack, would solve this issue and enable much more control over autoattack aggro.

Thank you for your consideration on this matter.

Bump- Need this to control attack behaviors on heroes.

(in addition, a nice feature to have would be to disable the attack-move behavior)
Every time you have an issue, spend at least 5 minutes on each of these four sites Google, Wiki, Github, and ModDota
If you still can't figure out your issue, post your issue on moddota in as much detail as possible with a SSCCE. If you do not complete these requirements, than you will be rejected by the community. Try not to contact individual users for help as we are very busy.

+1, Enfos needs this as well. I need to be able to set a MinimumAttackRange and either adding a MinimumAttackRange or exposing this filter would greatly help.

In the meantime AUTOATTACK_DISALBED dd modifier can be used to disable auto-acquisition if it is causing issues for you.

Please valve give us a filter for attack aggro.
