CScriptParticleManager set position + velocity

  • CScriptParticleManager set position + velocity

    Is it possible to set (at runtime) the current position and velocity of the particle? (ofc i am talking about using the control points SetParticleControl) In general i understand the concept and the most works fine. But for now i wasn't be able explicitly set the position AND save/set the velocity of the particle (i am using just a test model, doesn't have anything to do with emission). the scenarios i have are the following:
    1) i can do everything, except setting explicit position (global space)
    2) i can do everything, and even kind a offset particle using the Operator - Movement lock to control point, it does keep the accumulated velocity (for me it's a weird behaviour) so i can set the global space position but the local space is saved, so it only offsets. (this is potentialy usable with stupid compensation stuff etc, but it's the last thing what i want to do cause it will introduce diverge)
    3) same as the second but i can use Operator - Movement set to control point, this way it works as it should, BUT the velocity is completely gone.

    so how can i set the position and velocity of a running particle?

    ok. so the actuall problem is what you can't reset the offset (at least i couldn't achive this) which was made by the velocity (travelled in space).
    if there would be a native function (CScriptParticleManager method) to reset particle offset, it would resolve this issue. and overall imo particle api could be a bit richer... (considering the complexity of particle system itself)
