  • Cursed Essence Black not Working on Particle Effects?

We made an EF black yak, and there's no effect whatsoever.

Presumably the point in giving former 255, 255, 255 effects a distinct color code was to allow them to be migrated as prismatic gems.

    Please fix black!

I should add that there's also a kill modifier in there. Perhaps that's creating the bug.

I just made an EF black out of my CE roshan, and there is no visible effect. I would really like it if there could be something done about this so the effect would be visible.

Confirmed: this is a color-wide problem unrelated to either other mods or the courier model involved. Black produces nothing at all. No wonder it's "cursed black." You break valuable couriers to recover it and your desired effect then install them only to find.... Cursed black!!! Cursed Valve!

Hope we get a statement on this when Valve is done with Diretide

The reason why Valve removed random generated color codes was because of this.
There is no "black" color. The "black" color is the "transparent" color.

If they were to "fix" this it would change the appearance of every unusual courier.

You might see this as a bug. Other don't see this as a bug because it was intentionally made this way. By fixing this "bug" it would create other undesired issues.

Didn't it work for Dreaded Greevil? He seems to have a black particle effect.
