  • An ethereal staff turned normal for no reason

So this is my second time creating a thread on this forum because my first bug report went completely unnoticed.

I have purchased a Rubick staff from the Steam Market back in 2013 because the ethereal socket in it has piqued my interest.
However when I received an item and checked it in-game, it turned out that the socket has become general rather than ethereal and I was unable to use it for inserting an ethereal gem as I have planned from the start.
It's worth noting that across several such items this was the ONLY one that transformed after purchase and has effectively become useless to me.
I don't want to sound entitled but isn't the whole point of the Steam Community Market being able to buy exactly what you see rather than whatever the game sees fit to spit out at you?
As I've previously mentioned, my first thread didn't get the attention it deserved so let's hope second time is the charm and I will get an official reply or at the very least a fix to revert it to the state that I have bought.

The following is the compilation of my market and in-game screenshots from 2013 and 2018 along with another item from my collection which functions exactly as one would expect:

Edit: now that I think about it, I can use this opportunity to talk about another bug, namely the gems from the Sculptor's Pillar having no effect whatsoever as seen in https://i.imgur.com/wBPigk6.png

I have to agree; if the market shows the item with an ethereal socket, you should be given one when purchased. Or any socket/item/tag/etc for that matter. This isn't any different than inspecting knives in CSGO to see how they look. Sure, these items were a bug, but at this point they're a non-reproducible feature given how many are floating around/in use (as well as the recent patch which allowed more ethereal gems to work).

A full month has passed, I'm not sure this forum is getting monitored at all
Any other ideas on how to contact Valve to fix this?

It has been three years since I've made this thread and I have yet to receive my purchase, Dota 2 team. Am I asking for too much?
