[REPORT] Unusual Couriers Colour Scheme Violation

greetings.

recently there were found 2 unusual couriers in dota that have colours that are impossible to obtain.
we are aware of the situation with pre-patch unusuals that had their colour code randomly generated but this is not the case.
that 2 colours have artificial origin.

1. Unusual Imp with Felicity's Blessing effect. Colour: 255, 105, 180 (note that this is an exact 'Hot Pink' rgb colour code name: http://awesomescreenshot.com/0c6j05zd2)

This colour is not one from 10 colour scheme and it is not pre-patch due to the fact that imps were introduced to the game only aftec colour patch. And yes - code is straight rgb Hot Pink.

2. Unusual Frog with Sunfire effect. Colour: 255, 0, 255 (note that this is an exact 'Magenta' rgb colour code name: http://awesomescreenshot.com/0c6j05zd2)

This effect has only 255, 255, 255 colour code. It can be customized by paint but it does not affect the effect. Still there is no pure rgb Magenta (255, 0, 255) paint in the game.

Main problem:

Dota has its own unique economy. The most valuable items in game at the moment are unusuals with Felicity's Blessing or Ethereal Flames effects with pre-patch unique colours. Summary:

Such artificial unusual couriers:

* are ruining dota economy;
* giving ungrounded advantage to their owners;
* 90% were obtained in the unfair way.

I have much more information regarding this issue but cannot disclose it to the public since this may lead to more system exploits before this gets fixed.
Therefore I am asking administration staff to contact me via forum PM or steam.

Representing all unusual courier traders and owners (especially those who understand prices and paid for it with real money) I am asking for that couriers to be deleted from the game or replaced with regular ones. And upon investigation if their owners turn out to be guilty - give them appropriate punishment.

Can not agree more I knew this couriers was discovered recently, but though there are some new drops with new collors or something. But if owners of this courier obtain them lets say illegal way( or just simply the way other people can not follow) , its not only giving them huge advantage, its also totaly devalue proper unusual couriers and ruining settled market. I already feel bad for people who bought pink legacy couriers , as this case is draging their price rapidly down.

agree. admin please investigate. i bought my pink ethereal wardog for 375 keys (at that time i offered 100 more keys than other bidders), currently it is at 650+ keys value.

cant let this happen as it will devalue unusual legacy couriers.

at first I thought that valve has introduced pink colour (fb demon maybe recently unboxed) but looking at sunfire frog, it is impossible that unusual sunfire frog is a recent unboxed. only boxable during the summer.

imagine if someone has figured out how to change color codes for unusual effects, it will definitely destabilize the unusual trading economy which much depends on the colour (paintable, unpaintable and legacy)

How is it Impossible? There was as 5 day period in which they were in the game, before they locked the colors down to 10 possibilities.

@drkirby sunfires were ever droppable only with their fixed 255 255 255 code, only way how could you modifie the code was to aply paint on it, it will not change the effect , but it will change code below courier, but how the hell could you explaint code 255 0 255 ? paint of this color never existed , so pls tell me mr drikirby how?
Anyway i am even quite sure, your dates are not correct.

I believe that regular demon/frog where added to the game before this date, but the unusual version was added after.

As discussed on the playdota forum, it seems that this Irish_00 guy is simply butthurt that he could not purchase these couriers from their owners as shown in chatlogs posted in thread here: http://www.playdota.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1131085

I believe this was simply a minor mistake by Steam Support and not something that requires the deletion of someone's personal items - or wasting the time of staff at Valve.

Frankly, what you are talking about happens all the time, which much more valuable items in TF2. Valve has YET to delete anything because of it, so asking them to is a joke and will get you nowhere.

First: Take off the profiles of the people who own these unusuals. This is not a witchhunt and they are not at fault for buying these. If you want to find someone to point fingers at, link the sellers, or whoever originated these.

Second: You don't have all the facts. Most of this is just you being pissed off, none of it has any facts. If you are going to post something like this, you need proof of tampering, hard evidence, etc.

Third: Welcome to the online marketplace. Things aren't fair here. Keep in mind this is the tip of the iceberg, and much worse things are coming. As the economy grows, so does shit like this. Just wait until someone figures out how to dupe Dota 2 unusual couriers.

As someone who knows Shotta, his name does not need to be dragged into your insane witchhunt because he bought a courier.

at least have the decency to mark off the names of the owners of these couriers. as seen in the previous thread about the magenta sunfire frog, he had perfect screenshot evidence of steam support offering to change the colour of his frog. so are you accusing the steam support devs of aiding in a scam or unfair method? choose your words wisely.

Did you think about an option, he has that evidence, and he knows where the couriers comes from and just dont want to say so not all people start to do this?

Oh ok i have a fantastic idea, how about this, shotta himself will come here to explain how he got the courier , or who he bought it form (haha) , so we know the source and we all will have a better and safer place to trade here ? Thats what we all want dont we?
