Item deleting

Seems like the chances of getting items back is higher now for rarer items, based on that.

At diretide, when everyone had items coming out of their ears (like now), the observed deletion drop rate for commons was about 1/5, uncommons about 1/8, rares, no hard data.

Like everyone else these past few months, really since Frostivus at least, deletion drop even for commons seems worse than 1/20.

So i recently did a "Delete" challenge. I stacked like 48 rare taunts (cheapest rare possible), and deleted them all in one go. after first 2 rows (16items) It dropped pyrion flax announcer, 2 another rows- Prismatic drake, last 2 rows nothing. So really small chance 2/48, like 4% in this particular session.

I don't know if someone has done it before, but it would be kind of cool to make a spreadsheet on google docs and have people go in and enter how many items they deleted (by rarity) and then how many items they got back from it (also by rarity).

Can someone confirm the legitimacy of this site? It asks to login via steam.I wouldn't do it that easily.

Any site that accesses your steam account's inventory needs you to login through steam...though I wouldn't use any other site than dotalounge

EDIT: Just checked, the 'login through steam' URL is legit. The site has no access to your credentials when you do login.

i remember before i got an uncommon for every 8-10 deleted commons.
now i delete 100 commons to get 2 uncommons.

this is good to make 100 commons out of 1. but what do you do after that? you don't want 100 uninteresting commons, you want items of higher value -> only option is to delete them.

Don't delete items! Use them to make bets! Seriously, it is a great way to get something in return for your duplicate common/uncommon/rare that no one needs.

I deleted only 2 commons so far, both of which I actually wanted to get rid of because
nobody would want them except me and I already had one of each. lol
Of course, both times I didn't get anything but I knew the chances would be extremely slim.
Other than that, I don't plan on deleting anything I can put together into another set and trade away.

I deleted my entire back pack a couple days ago (which consisted of a full page of items) and I got 2 things back from it, so it's working, just very very small chances now I guess.
