  • A different viewing mode: apply your customizations to all heroes in game

There are two options that are clearly possible: default of seeing each player's customizations on their heroes, and turning off customizations all together.

I suggest a third option: seeing your customizations applied to every hero.

If you customize lich, for example, and someone else is playing lich in the game, then you would see the lich customized as you have it in your loadout. This would apply to everyone on the field, and possibly the couriers as well (no matter who buys, you see the courier you have equipped).

Benefits? Now you don't have to play one hero just to see customization. Also, if you think juggernaut simply looks better with different gear, then you can always see him that way. Think DOTA should be about a turf war between gangsta heroes? Bam. The map is filled with heroes decked out with blings and low-pants (i will be waiting, valve). Of course, you would have to obtain the items for each hero, and this mode only applies to your vision (so other people would only see customization on your own hero).

A side effect of this would be that people would be able to turn off cosmetics by equipping nothing on heroes. I think we have enough discussions about that, so please limit discussion to using this assuming that you would use it for sake of seeing custom models that you own on all heroes on the map. I am, of course, suggesting this as an option. Something you can choose to turn on or off, with default being that you see the customization by each player on their respective heroes.

    I thought about this too.
But this kinda ruins the concept of showing off.

On the other hand, if you observe a game why not
As an option for spectators I would welcome it.

Honestly most of us are gonna dislike more items then we would like, so for 1 item that i wont to see ill get 10 that i don't so i would really like this feature.
        Work in progress, feedback appreciated
