  • Refund request: Treasure Keys - fake, confusing description

    Hello,

today I've purchased 8 treasure keys to complete a trade with another gamer. By following digital goods description available under the webpage address: http://dota2.com/store/itemdetails/57939770 I understood the item is tradable (it is clearly stated "Tradable: Yes").
Unfortunately after purchase when I've obtained the items in-game I got a (NOT) cool information: "Tradable after: 19th November".

Now more formal part: I am requesting activation of these keys or cancellation for this transaction, as I feel cheated. I have been not informed at all about the real condition of these items nor about their tradability! There is no information about when certain items will be tradable at store located under the webpage address: http://dota2.com/store/, moreover, the current description is fake and confuses potential buyers. No refund policy, no overal purchase description, agreement and such at Dota2 Store. I found more information on similar issue (http://dev.dota2.com/showthread.php?t=62159), but why the hell I am required as a buyer to seek information over internet about such stuff, its up to seller to provide all information about the purchased goods. And I don't find that in Dota2 Store, where I've made final purchase.

To sum it up: this cannot remain like that, I am the first, but not the last, you have to place a proper information about the items. Otherwise you might have many crime reports (uncomplete product information, product not eligible with its description) soon enough and I guess that's not it.

    My steam account: fightingelf

    Cheers,
    David.

    PS
Opened also a ticket on Steam Support.

When you first login to Steam, in order to use it, you have to check the "I agree" checkbox after reading the Steam Subscriber Agreement. You can find it at http://store.steampowered.com/subscriber_agreement/

Now here is what it says about trading:

"Valve may operate a trading marketplace where certain types of Subscriptions (for example, license rights to virtual items) can be traded between Subscribers (the “Steam Trading Marketplace”). By participating in the Steam Trading Marketplace, you authorize Valve, on its own behalf or as an agent or licensee of any third-party publisher of the applicable Subscriptions in your Account, to transfer those Subscriptions from your Account in order to give effect to any trade you make within the Steam Trading Marketplace.

You understand and acknowledge that Valve may decide to cease operation of the Steam Trading Marketplace, or change the terms or features of the Steam Trading Marketplace, in the future. Valve shall have no liability to you because any inability to trade Subscriptions in the Steam Trading Marketplace, including because of discontinuation or changes in the terms, features or eligibility requirements of the Steam Trading Marketplace."

Also, the items Valve sells as tradeable items really are, you just have to wait 3 days (if it is your first in game purchase), so I don't see a problem here since you had agreed with Valve terms. I know it sucks, I've been trough the same situation, but all you can do right now is wait 3 days.

    "I come for souls."

If I buy Keys in the store (Which I can't, store is down) I won't be able to trade them for 3 days?... Or just if it's the first purchase?

3 days is a long time when you bought keys to trade.

            Indeed.

            @CaioBehling:

I know that, I found it during posting this stuff. Anyway I don't find it fair enough, because you read the subscriber agreement only once, as you stated, during registration process. I didn't make Steam account long ago, but far enough to forget such stuff. The items should at least be described as "Tradable: Yes*" and information what that star means or a link to subscriber license. I am not trying to make someone less rich, because I'll spent that money anyway, but I'd like to do it on something else, that I will need. Otherwise I feel cheated, as it forces me now to make extra payments.
Tell me, because I don't know what I will do with 8 keys after 19th Nov? If it would be 2, even 3 keys I wouldn't care that much.

The most expensive things in the shop are the 12 euro Baby Roshan/Frog/Speed Demon couries. What the hill did you want to trade for 16 euros worth of keys?
