You get contributor stretch bonus from contributing $10 directly to Valve, for which $2.50 goes into the prize pool.

When you buy the compendium off someone else, do they chip in 2.50$ to the prize pool out of their pocket?
          No.

Why would you expect to get a contributor bonus?

Well, people sell the thing cause they get profit for it. So the last buyer is the one who payed the 2,50. And he should be the one who gets everything that belongs to it, not just a part. When you buy a graphics card that comes with a video game, you want the videogame that was advertised. If the shop takes the code for the game out of the box and then sells it to you without saying something you are pissed, as you payed for the bundle. This is the same situation. Item says for owning it you get stuff, not for buying it in the store. No sense in making it marketable then.

I am on the same boat as some other people here, bought the book from the market as it was over 1€ cheaper, now I have no boost as I activated it before the patch.

BB is awarded ONLY to those who bought from Dota 2 Store. If you got it from ANYWHERE ELSE, you do not get the BB.

Well, this is the problem, this was stated nowhere. Don't want to buy another book just for the BB and dont want to support anymore people who bought the Compendium when you got the BB for purchasing it.

"Everyone who picks up a Compendium before The International ends will now receive the most powerful Battle Bonus we’ve ever created." Don't see the words "Dota 2 Store" here.

When he buy compendum from some trader,he paid him 10$ (in keys or items), and that trader paid this 10$ to Valve.

I don't get it anymore. You get the BB for buying the Compendium now, or for activating it? So many different opinions on the net.

Exactly. So that trader contributed to valve, and the buyer did not.

Don't understand that logic. The trader isn't the final consumer, he just moved it from a to b while getting some profit. The final consumer is the one who contributed, as he was the reason the compendium was sold. Without consumers no trader would buy it.

As said, when you buy something at a market, you are the one who paid the thing, so you want the whole thing. You wouldn't accept the market saying "We contributed to the manufacturer, so we get the goodies!". They already got their profit from trading.

The logic is that the reseller who got paid 10$ for reselling did not chip in 2.50$ as a contribution.

Buying from reseller does not contribute to the stretch goal.
Buying from valve contributes to the stretch goal.

CONTRIBUTOR bonuses. Not 2nd-hand owner bonuses.
They are based entirely on the prize pool. Buying from resellers does not increase prize pool.

                            Very easy to understand.

Well, but it was never stated that way. The way it's stated, new bonused get added through increase of price pool, and all owners of the compendium get them. After all the system is ment to reward compendium owners, and not people who buy and sell compendiums.
