    func_precipitation doesn't work anymore and there's no console/api commands to manipulate the weather. Weather effects would let us add a lot of atmosphere to our maps and definitely opens up more possibility for creative scenarios.

    Hey Dav, please see this thread for a compilation of all the entities/functions (including func_precipitation) that aren't working currently (and I agree, func_precipitation would be awesome to be able to use again).

    My guess is that we're going to have to resort to using the Dota 2 particle entity/system in Hammer to get rain (or other effects) working until they add support for func_precipitation.

    Edit: With lua, we can now easily attach the current cosmetic weather effects within the base game to the player without resorting to the func_precipitation entity. A mapping/hammer alternative would still be nice to have.
