  • [Suggestion] Allow us to set Render Quality to more than 100% (downscaling)

What the title says. Allows for far greater image quality.

Regular on the left, downscaled (render quality over 100%) on the right

And here's another screenshot (not zoomed in): http://dota2.cyborgmatt.com/Dota2_Downscale01.jpg
That's Dota downscaled from 2160p to 1440p. Looks absolutely gorgeous.

Well, you are able to downsample the game with the given options of your graphic cards, wether its AMD or NVidia.
The only thing with downsampling on reborn is that the cursor doesnt fit the location of the actual displayed cursor while downsampled wich is a huge bug in that case.
Tryed to figure out how to solve the problem since im used to play S1 Dota downsampled to 4k but the only way at the moment is to inject a hashscript vía GeDoSaTo (wich is a tool you can downsample with aswell)
to catch the cursor to its downsampled location.
EDIT: and yes, reborn is indeed a beauty when it comes to 4k ;P

Arma games have down/uber/supersampling options built in. Check them out.

Some Battlefield games aswell, BUT lets say with GeDoSaTo, you are able to push the downsampling to infinity.
If you got the money for a rocketsience-uber-machine you could downsample Reborn potentially to 16k and beyond.
Tryed it on 8k, unfortunately unplayable since PC limitations.

So THAT what is the difference between S1 and S2 dota.
This realy looks like the main reason for blury image in reborn.

@Inacio, what % exactly did you use for that shots? Maybe resolutions?

Official native support for this would be pretty nice! Yeah, it's possible to do it at a driver level, but that screws up with multi-monitor setups in Windows, and the size of the Steam Overlay.

Can you give a quick rundown how to do it with an AMD gpu?

Native support obviously would be awesome.

Some of us have been here from the beta, watching this mess of a game getting developed. And you STILL are surprised when you are fed shit. [...]
