  • Valve should be transparent to players

    Dear Valve,

We know you are accommodating the influx of newbies by mixing them with the existing players and this could be the reason why there are lots of whining from old players. Icefrog already gave us a hint of what was going to happen when he wrote in his blog:

"Our goals are to create little disruption for the existing Dota 2 audience, to bring new players into a system that will work reliably"

    http://blog.dota2.com/2013/06/transi...o-launch-mode/

The matchmaking system seems to coincide with your Pubstomp event.. are you trolling us?

We realize that as a business entity it is advantageous on your end to increase player base and that providing these newbies with good gaming experience would mean sales conversion. We have no problem with that. At least you could have been honest to the players and advice them what to do in the meantime as you take your course of action. You have to take into consideration that these players play because they want to win, not because they want to mentor some newbies or even adjust for them each and everytime. If this was your intention then you should have patched your Mentor System and provide some incentives/bonus/rewards for mentors for playing with their apprentices. At least there is consolation in what they are doing.

Stop exploiting people Valve. If you want to compete with LoL then listen to your players. Make it a win-win situation for both newbies and the existing player base.

This is exactly what is going wrong in LoL. They nerf arround what the forums cry about.

I honestly have no problem with the matchmaking system, yeah sometimes I get fucked up players but I also get as much good players.

Also, I was a noob too and I got crushed hard. But I'm still playing with over 1200 hours dota2, not everyone is a freaking babby. And DOTO not for babbies anyway.

Lets be real for a second, LoL still has the most concurrently active playerbase that any game has ever had. And them listening to the cries of the players is part of them being successful. Players play your game, when they complain, you are most likely wrong.

But while LoL is a game targeted towards casual players, dota2 has a much more competitive mindset. Some heroes don't even work when you don't synergize properly with your team, while if you do, the hero might be almost OP. Valve/Icefrog has to account for these kind of things even if their posters might not. Due to the competitive setting, it is often more favorable to wait a little so balance can settle in. Though that is just balance changes. Different rules apply to the systems around it. If people complain about the mute system, the mute system has to go. When MM is putting people that are not compatible, it needs to be fixed. When there's performance issues or UI bugs, they have to be fixed. We as a community use these dev forums to supply Valve with additional brainstorming and thinking power that a mere 100 man team doesn't posses. And if they would grow a pair and talk to us, we can finally do what we intended to do here the day we started posting.
      JUST QUIT PLAYING ALREADY

VALVE DOESN'T GIVE A SHIT, NEITHER SHOULD YOU

SPEND YOUR TIME ON A DEVELOPMENT TEAM THAT ISN'T AFRAID TO POST ON THEIR OWN DEVELOPER FORUMS

This is like asking Government officials to be honest about their finances. Or Government bodies to be honest about their policies or functions.

Take a look into the mirror! You think you are completely unfailable. With your limited knowledge, you think that you know more than someone who is very deep in the matter/an expert.

Valve doesn't take care of the balancing, no matter how people cry here, the devs won't do a thing.
