Make the players take an informed decision when they choose to accept or Deny the game. Show the MMRs of every player in the game with that "Your match is ready" box. Hell don't even show the account names, just the values of the MMRof the players in ur and the enemy team.
If I have 1000 mmr and accept a match in which one of my allies is a 800 MMR player then I'm doing that to myself and i can't whine that there is a big mismatch.
If i don't wanna play with such players i would just deny it and I'll receive a 1 min penalty ( or low priority ) of not being able to search for a new match.
Q and A
1) You receive a penalty when you decline a match
2) Only big differences in MMr would be avoided.
If I'm a high MMR player and the game can't easily find me people on my skill level, then I'll be perfectly aware that I can't do much but play with people who have less MMR than me. I don't mind playing with players who have less, but not way too less MMR than me.
+ The peer pressure of you seeing that your MMR is the lowest in your team will result in you either thinking that you should pick a simpler role or you should at least wait for eveyone to pick and then fill the left over position.

Q and A
Because then no-one would play with anyone because everyone is better/worse then someone else. (Well except the absolute worst and the absolute best.)
