  • How does this even happen?

    Okay, hear me out.
first of all, i'm not a random noob who complains about the "OMGZZ HE HAZ LESS HOURS N LESS GEAMS THAN ME HURR DURR", no, i usually play between the first 5 pages of live games and i'm coming here today to fucking complain about how matchmaking really makes no fucking sense at times.

So, i was MMing with 1 friend and we got matched against a 4 man stack of people with 60-75+% winrate, game was in the first page and had a fair amount of viewers.
We lost the first game but it was fine until then, it was to be sort of expected.. but then.. then we queued again and got matched against them 3 more times and the pain of MMing being so unfair begun. (especially in the last 2)
so i want an answer as to how or why i got matched with these guys i'm going to list, and how did they actually end up playing those games.

http://dotabuff.com/matches/256760115 match id: 256760115 huskar is very VERY stupid, gets picked off MULTIPLE times late game, and all in all didn't contribute much of anything (this game was sort of fine though, it was pretty close and i guess our lesh being very good sort of balanced it out somewhat)

    but THIS:
http://dotabuff.com/matches/256831185 match id: 256831185 this was just PURE BULLSHIT, the gyro was COMPLETELYY retarded, he wasn't just "having a bad game".. he was REALLY REALLY awful, he didn't know about basic positioning or laning at all.. and to top it off he was queueing with LD who was just as bad as him.

so how does that even happen???? i mean all those game were in the 1st page of live games (and i know it doesn't mean much, but one would expect that would at least asure everyone in the game knows how to properly play at a decent level..)
just look at the 2nd game i posted, it's just retarded...

TL;DR: watch the 2nd game i posted and see how matchmaking doesn't get better even at some of the highest brackets. You've to stack or be matched with retards.

Judging by profile (in second match) they definitly know how to play DotA 2. But looking at the match they did perform very badly. I don't know why but they probably were trolling.

if you're talking about gyro and lone druid.

NO, just NO. they were speaking spanish over the mic (i speak spanish as well) and they were actually trying real hard, the gyro was just awful, really awful i'm not even exaggerating, he was just horrible... you could clearly tell he's not used to play against decent players by the way he moved and what he said.

the lone druid sold his items after he fed like 0-6 or something like that, he was also just unbearable to watch.

I mean, of course you can say they sort of know how to play if you compare it to the general norma of players, the game's in a very high bracket anyways, but they're just clearly waaaay behind that level of play and so matchmaking made a clear mistake.

That Gyro is 7-3 with Gyro. Maybe he hadn't faced the lane comp he was against before? 53% win rate suggests he's not bad unless he's being carried in 5-stacks. Idunno. It's hard to have a win rate that high and play that poorly. Maybe he was drunk.

As for Huskar...yea when the Charles Barkley build goes wrong is when a team has a bunch of disables (levitate, sacred arrow, astral imprison) to wait out your ghost scepter. That's when you're fucked.

dude, not trying to offend you but what you're saying is pretty basic stuff.
it DOESN'T matter how hard the game/lane/team composition it is at this level of games, you shouldn't feed half as bad as they did under no circumstances..

and i'm not saying "i think he played bad, cuz he fed top" NO, he WAS bad, i saw him playing constantly and he really had no clue how to play properly. You could watch the replay and see how out of the game he was.

but it doesn't matter i guess, i shouldnt have posted this maybe.
maybe i exaggerated by postin this here and it was the heat of the moment as i was sort of angry, but nonetheless this match with those players shouldn't have happened, it was a matchmaking mistake i can tell you 100%, he didn't belong there and i know it, the two of them were surprised we had viewers as they never had them before (they were talking about over voice chat).
