What if the Riki was in a party with another 2000h player?

that is no excuse. that is not the way you deal with partys.

playing with people where there is a large skill gap should be treated like there is no "skill-gap". so the enemy team is on the level of the best player from this stack.

-> stacks with lower people won't happen anymore. Training with lower people will happen vs bots or in inhouse games.

All the dire team members have 10-50 hours of d2 apart from you with 200.
Radiant team has also same amount of hours apart from that bh with 1000 and morph with 2k. These accounts are not smurfs. They had to be never get matched together.

100h can be alot and the ELO system may very well have assigned them a good rating (matching the ELO of the 2000h player).

Valve matchmaking is flawless, so the only logical explanation is that this 2000hr morphling must be a complete trash player for him to be matched up with a 1hr riki.

The explanation is that the Morphling wasnt matched against the Riki but another player of Rikis team.

That would mean Valve matchmaking isn't perfect, so that can't be right.

I predicted that people would just move on to looking at Steam playtime now wins are hidden. Nice to see I was right.

Will be terrible to introduce people to DOTA2. "Inhouse games" are no option for the majority of new players, as i doubt that most people got 10+ friends on Steam who are all playing DOTA2 (and also at the same time). Botgames can in no way perpare you for real DOTA2 games, those are almost two completely different things.

The only way for new players in your scenario is to play solo or with other noobs.
Maybe Valve will implement some sort of mentoring system specifically designed for parties with large experience gaps.

Regarding bigger skill gaps between experienced players, your proposal would only be valid if the ELO is known (otherwise its very hard to know if the other person you are partying up with is on your skill level). Valve has already stated they wont do that, and they got a very valid reasoning behind that.

Correct. Stupid, angry people will be stupid, angry people. Valve might aswell bring back the wins for everybody on the public profile.
