And yet, the griefers in my game continue to ruin others games.

    Continue.

I don't see how the OPs mute and stuff was justified in any way.

If you're going to argue with this, please don't use terrible analogies like "it's like stealing something and being shot", "it's like being given the chair for insulting a judge" and all the rest. They're not valid comparisons and just make things messier.

The guy in question had a long history of being abusive and rude in games - people on Reddit went through his match history. Throughout his whole thread he also continued to flame and be rude - "game is ruined because I have to play with faggots" being one example. He did deserve to be punished - you're not going to get anywhere arguing on that front. His posts show that clearly.

The only point I can see people raising issue with is that the Valve employee manually handed out a longer-than-usual punishment. If a Valve employee sees someone breaking the rules, and the report system has failed to deal with them, is it fair for him to punish that player manually? I'd say yes. But is it fair for him to give an abnormally long punishment? I'm not sure.
Please help keep the forums clean by reporting rude or abusive posts!

You're wrong in every aspect, as mentioned here they got every right to do this. And you're clearly delusional if you think this person is worth defending.

Obviously reported this thread, original thread was closed to stop morons from defending this guy and you make a new thread? Come on.

PS: Your analogy was awful, that's why people reacted. No, it doesn't "make it simple".

Arresting the person is what should have happened ( reporting them ingame )
Shooting the person is the abuse that happened ( giving 1500 hours of mute and 130 hours of low priority )
            Reporting them ingame? Why?
Arrest happened (they were muted for 1500 hours)
You are telling that a cop should just go to the station and make a complaint. (reporting in-game)
Why? Why should a cop not use his authority and only do what someone that is not a cop?
Why should the owner of a hotel make a complaint to the owner (wtf?) when someone is making his customers uncomfortable and not throw him out?
I know what analogy is but yours just don't make sense. You think that you should get the same punishment with an automated system that a mod can give you?
So you would be automatically be put in jail when some people complain without going to court or given a ticket for speeding just because some people don't like you even if you didn't really drive that day. No. Mod can give you a higher penalty than automated system. He made an arrest, he didn't go to the police station and made a complaint (wtf?)

I don't care about Valve, but I hate when pricks march around and think that noone can touch them. There is no regret, there is no shame in the muted person topic. He feels like he is entitled to everything. He thinks that employee should be punished. WTF? Man, I would get if a (lets get back to your analogy) cop would beat you up for speeding, I would get if he would humiliate and piss on you because he would took it personal, but man, getting a mute in a game? For being a total dick? In real life you would get banned from a place for being a dick. I have seen people getting banned from bars for life for insulting customers, normally people don't even dare to insult the owner. But yeah, he is totally a cop who just shot someone. You people are totally reasonable. And there is a bit of irony in your signature lol.

You people keep surprising me more with each retarded thread you make.

                Let me summarize:

                1. An abuser starts flaming
                2. Someone (that works for Valve) asks him to stop
                3. The abuser continues with his negative behavior and toxic words.
                4. The abuser gets banned.

System working as intended, get used to it, scum.

He got his punishment. Maybe other people see this as a warning and start to behave in a normal way, instead of being rude through the whole game.

When someone misbehaves he gets reported/he gets arrested . What happens after that is all the system , the system that this cop/employee is responsible for. That's what should have happened. If you don't agree then its your job to radically change the system instead of giving out a retardedly long and unfair ban because it was personal .

If a person insults a cop in his own house , the punishment should be the same for someone insulting a civilian in his own house . They should get arrested , the standard punishment. Just because it was personal, and the employee himself does not believe in the system does not mean he is allowed to take matters into his own hands like this . This would be ok if this was HoN or LoL because that's how their system works . It's not 100% automated like ours .
This guy deserves the same punishment as everyone else . Anyone who disagrees with this on a primal level is a hypocrite or misinformed . Valve is legally protected to do worse then this , but it does not mean they should be able to do this without a backlash from the community .

Imagine if it was you , if an admin did the same to you , for saying much much less . For simply calling gg , noob, feeder. What would you do ? The amount of flame the victim did is insignificant and arbitrary . Even if he called Gabe himself , his bitch in all chat , he should not get this punishment .

But an admin wouldn't do the same "for saying much less". An admin did this because the guy had been abusive over a long period of time in many games (confirmed by his match replays, and remember that as a Valve admin he can see all reports against this guy). Even when punished, he hasn't shown any remorse or even apologised for his behaviour. He's continued to insult everyone in the thread and flame random people.

                      Also:

This part makes no sense. DG.Fallen was even told to stop flaming. Also DG.Fallen had a long history of flaming. What you're saying hasn't happened and seeing as the employee warned him before he received the punishment, won't happen. You can cry all you want, but the punishment will stay in and most people in dev.dota2, reddit and everyone I've talked to do NOT agree with you and/or Fallen. When are you going to realize that?

The guy is not a dota 2 admin ffs . We don't have ingame admins .
                            He is a valve employee.
We have a flawed automated report system .
And that's the system this employee should obide by. Since its his system . If he doesn't believe in the system , then change it, don't go around handing 1500 mute bans and 150 hours of low priority to every other person who calls you a noob .

If you believe he deserves this punishment I can think of at least thousands who I have encountered who deserve more. If that person is an admin and is punishing everyone . This might be toleratable . But he isn't an admin , the system is automated . Plz use all your mental functions before you reply . Not just here, but in life in general .
