Matchmaking is completely HORRIBLE

Hi, I've played about over 100 matches of Dota 2 and I've got to say, the MM is ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE. I've read online that the system tries and keeps your winrate at 50%. People also say that if you're failing horribly, you'll get matched with people who can carry you. I've found that to be complete bullcrap. According to Dotabuff, my win rate is at around 42% but is in reality 39% (it counts my abandons as wins). I get matched with complete horribads 60% of the time, causing me to lose a large portion of my games. Don't get me wrong, sometimes I play bad and I acknowledge that, but I know when my team is dragging us down to lose. I've sometimes had losing streaks that are somewhat like this:
7 LOSSES
WIN
3 LOSSES
WIN
6 LOSSES
WIN
To the point where I'm about 22 losses below my wins. Its very rare I win now and I find good teammates I connect with enough to add them so we can queue together. I really don't understand why the matchmaking doesn't pair you with people at your skill level so you can have equally as skilled teammates and opposing team so it doesn't end up being a once sided match. For God's sake, I've heard of people in Very High bracket getting paired with people with 15 wins! Seriously.... COME ON! This really has to be addressed because it is absolutely horrid.

I'm fairly decent. It's almost always my team. My last match my teammates fed 7 kills in the first 5 minutes or so.

I believe that the MM system won't be reworked drastically in the near future, so you have to find other ways to deal with the situation:
- Watch your games or replays and if you find a player who you think would be nice to play with add him to your friend list.
- If you manage to gather enough friends you can always play 3-5 stack games, where you won't get unexpectedly bad players.

Yeah, its absolutely horrible right now. Don't know whats going on.. Wasn't this bad before but recently since like the mid-end of last month till now, i been matching with players with 0 games? Doesn't show any games.. Never happened before... I always solo queue

Yeah my last matches also were shit, wanted to try meepo and go top lane solo vs 2 enemies. Then Visage and Omniknight at our bot lane die 10 times in the first 5 min wtf. They were playing against 2 enemies there. They fed Spiritbreaker and it's gg then...

I do have some Dota buddies but most of them are busy/offline. Also, It's hard to find people to add because most of my games have really crap players.

Instead of blaming your team improve your own skill, matchmaking does a pretty good job to force an even game. (Unless you're playing vs stacks)

If you watch all of it I guarantee you will get better. Remember you don't improve by playing a lot, you improve by learning and playing smart.

I also suggest you go to live games (dota2 client) and search for your favorite hero: "eg: Templar Assassin" click on whoever plays her on the 1st page.
Watch him play from player perspective mode, you will learn a lot and will dominate your skill bracket, eventually you'll be too good and your MMR will increase.

I understand most of the fundamental basics of this game like don't auto attack creeps in the early laning phase, don't waste mana on creeps, etc. Gankers move to different lanes to surprise attack enemies and attempt to kill them. Supports are there to help the team survive and set up for kills. Carries get the last hits and farm so that they can buy great items to help them win the game. I also don't have a favorite hero because I don't think that playing the same hero over and over is a good idea to learn the game. I doubt improving will fix the fact that I keep getting paired with really bad people. I can't carry a whole team of people who feed/dive or just don't know the basics.

I highly suggest you watch armor and evasion videos as well, it's more advanced than you might think.

Keep in mind the more you know the better player you will become!

I'd like to add that as a newcomer to the genre I was below 50% when I started out (~45%), playing in "Normal" games. Now I'm in the "Very High" games on my main account (I made another one after ~600 games that was consistently in VH after just ~20-30 as 100% support player) - although it took about 200 more games on my main account to catch up in rating to my secondary account. I'm at 52.5% on my main account - it is doable.
