  • Does any1 feel like its too zoomed in?

So after several years i bought a new pc and decided i need a screen to max out my expirience(yes my old stuff sucked hard before)
Right now im playing with 1920x1080 and 16:9.
I would like to know if other people feel the camera is too close feeling somehow bad.
I also noticed this. For example if you go to the river things are somewhat nice but if you go up the stairs for ancients the camera stays in the same height. So what i mean is when you get to the high ground things get even bigger like playing with binoculars.
After 30-50 games i got used it and i cant say im having any significant trouble but you know if more people feel that way shouldnt valve fix it?Like zoom out the game a bit?
Again this only happens on 1920x1080 and 16:9

Sort of quitting/quitted dota2 for this, played it for a year, played DotA for 6-7years, but honestly, couldn't handle the binocular vision anymore, made the game unenjoyable to me.
If you don't have an intelligent reply for me, don't bother I will shred your non sense to pieces.

I DO feel the camera is too close, and I think you should be able to scroll it back at least a lil bit further
Make a NON automated report system.
I would rather wait 10 minutes for a balanced, fun and exciting match that will last 1+ hours. Than wait 10 seconds for a poorly balanced crapmatch that will end in 30- minutes
Valve, How I'm I supposed to respect certain boundaries to prevent a mute if I dont know them because they are different for each and every person on each and every game I play?

When I started playing dota2 this was one of my biggest pet peeves. I felt like the camera was way too close. Got used to it now but I still feel this way whenever I haven't played dota for a while.

I do wish you could zoom out just a little bit more - maybe 25%. Feel I have to toggle the screen a bit too often.

Yes. But there are some ways to adjust it.

When you go from that cinematic view back to normal, it's zoomed in but it gets fixed by scrolling it around. I'm sure there's SOME console command for the camera scale.

But problem is not really "its zoomed in", problem is like OP said: when you go to low ground, camera goes bit lower, then you go back to high ground but camera STAYS low so then its too zoomed in.

To fix this you can just doubleclick your hero and its reseted again but still this is pretty annoying when you have to do this all the time when you move anywhere.

Also you can exploit this to your advantage, go to "secret" high spot on map and you have very zoomed out view until you reset it.

It is considered a cheat and is locked in multiplayer.

No, this isn't a "Volvo ded gem" thread.

I understand where OP is coming from. Binocular disparity from DotA and Dota 2 are fairly large. And stereopsis varies from one individual to another. Some will find it very hard for their vision to adapt to it. To make it easier to understand, the concept is the same as 3D movies. People have different "hardware" and therefore have different perceptions. And, not everyone will enjoy 3D movies. In fact, some people hate it and find it very annoying for the same reasons.

As for OP, I've never played 1920 x 1080 and don't think I will have any opportunity in the near future so I can't contribute much.

It's equivalent to Valve knighting. Valve knighting gets more retarded, faster though. You should know.
