  • I rather wait a few more minutes for a balanced game!

I got this question running in my mind and perhaps someone already made it but I haven't seen it. And believe me I'm on this page daily to see if anything ever improves and convinces me to come back to Dota 2.

Would you rather wait a few more minutes in queue for a good and well balanced game or waste 45-60 minutes playing with retards or against people out of your league?

I'd wait a few more minutes..It's really stupid how the matchmaking is made ..Faster, but weaker..I'd like it Stronger, but slower..
This can be done with the matchmaking or add a different option for matchmaking..

I'd also wait a few more minutes... but what's the guarantee that after waiting I won't end up with the same fail team?
Anyone will wait a few more minutes... but that won't change anything... The Matchmaking system thinks it's a balance game and pops up the message: Accept game.

I don't know about an hour... that's too extreme.

Huh? It starts out trying to find players as close to you as possible. The longer you wait the wider the search gets, don't get how waiting longer will help you?

Kids with ADD these days you gotta cater to em or yer servers are as dry as a parrot's tongue. Well shit at least i can reset queue now that i know. Shit sucked when i wasn't aware. This information doesn't get out there enough. You'd think they look at the search range meter going up and connect a few dots.
@Inritus yeah longer search queues aren't fixing it directly, but a restriction to the search range expansion is what you would need.

Did someone actually read Dev's post about MMs?

If you want a more fair match just reset the queue. Since the longer you wait, the more MMR spread between players.
The obvious drawback of this is that you wait longer, but hey, isn't what everyone want?

(It's do actually work for me, thought)

I would wait an hour for a match that was actually balanced. I would rather have one great game than two shitty ones.

I havent played a balanced game for a month now, so yeah I would wait more for a better teammates but this is not going to happen. I remember a video of NaVi visiting valves office and there was a guy behind a desk, the tour commented: "If you ever had problems with MM blame this guy." so I blame u fucking retard developer for being so dumb and gay.

I see what you mean. My queue is always very fast, say a minute or less. So basically that means those people are the best matched players for me/my team. However it isn't quite that way for at least a few months now. Now I get a fast queue and end up with the same shit most players do. That's why I rather have the matchmaking searches for me, finds a match but holds that one to the side for a lil bit and keeps on searching. Hey a better match here, let's drop that first find and continue a lil more. Maybe after 2 or 3 actual better searches he gives you the prompt of finding a match.

That's basically where I was going for. It's like buying a new tv. When you walk in the store you go up and get the first TV you like but there's a chance that it will be crappy or you're lucky and it was a good buy. Or you go in make a selection of the best 3 and pick the best from those 3. Quite simple really.

I know MM has a lot of things to consider with but I know there has to be a way somehow to fix all this. There must be some mathwizard that can come up with a good solution.

That also brings you all the way to the bottom of the list in order of priority. So potentially, a person who starts searching a game after you do intially, can start a balanced game before you just because you resetted the queque, even if you have been looking for longer

That system is poorly designed, people should have the option to choose how far they want to allow their search range to be (So they can stay in the queque without having to lose their place by resetting every time the range becomes too wide)
Make a NON automated report system.
I would rather wait 10 minutes for a balanced, fun and exciting match that will last 1+ hours. Than wait 10 seconds for a poorly balanced crapmatch that will end in 30- minutes
Valve, How I'm I supposed to respect certain boundaries to prevent a mute if I dont know them because they are different for each and every person on each and every game I play?
The only type of player that dislikes having his stats public are the players that suck and cheaters

You'd have to be pretty unlucky to have that happen in the split second it takes to hit the button twice. Besides if a match didn't start before you cancelled queue chances are it wont until you press it again either. But yeah the custom search range woudln't hurt.

I wish people would stop making polls with biased answers.

                              would you rather:
pick this super awesome options that's awesome because it's awesome?
or pick this shitty option that sucks because you're stupid.

A simple Yes or No was all you needed to be taken more seriously.
