  • People are running bots to farm items.

They start by going all mid and attack move. It is essentially a game where you have to push for 15 minutes to win a game that was free in the first place. I guess I shouldn't say people, but I have seen it once so I assume it will grow in popularity.

other people have also started topic about bots, so i believe this is true, even though i was wondering how, but if this does, they should be reported.

Report who? the BOT? the account on which the BOT is playing/using? And then what? the account will get muted... big difference...

You also get item farmers running multiple instances of dota or playing on multiple machines. You can deny them battle points/items in a coop bot match by throwing it, but if it's in a real match you can't do anything about it. Reporting doesn't work because they can just make new accounts so the only thing you can do is play with people you know to avoid having them on your team. It's just an unfortunate part of free to play and marketable items.

All they did in my game was random and essentially a move down middle lane.

Does it occur all over every server or only just in one certain region ? o.o

All these bots do is start off with boots, run mid, feed, and fill up their inventory with bracers throughout the entire course of the game.

I really hope Valve gets some detection going soon on this since it's a pretty obvious pattern to pick up. I really wish they would have the stones to just start shutting down accounts from playing altogether when they bot.

Volvo just lifted ALL restrictions to play Dota 2 in this latest patch, BOT ON MY FRIENDS! BOT ON!

Report the Bot, make a new Bot, continue as you were.

TY VOLVO! (WE ALL KNOW ITS YOU NEWELL! TROLLING YOUR PLAYERS WITH YOUR BOT-SPAM!)

I just played a game where the bot sat in the fountain for 8 minutes(no exp for 8 minutes) and never got an abandon then proceeded to do as you said and just go mid to hit and then walked back.
It might have to do to the fact that the server went offline while we were playing but he never got an abandon which doesn't make much sense.

Plus it was 5 solos vs a 5stack (we probably would have won, though, if we didn't have some bot).

I'll post match id when it comes up if it ever does.

this is a lesser of evils, and with the item rate you get crap items all the time anyways. I dont think it will be very lucrative and ppl will stop doing this crap anyways.

You get like 1 rare item for every 60-100 games and like 1 mythical item for every 500 games or so. Ive played like 600 games already and still didnt get 1 mythical item once. And the rares I got were crap anyways. Its like 40 cent on marketplace or even lower.

Some of my newer friends do just this.

Me and 3 friends vs another team of 4 people. We each had a bot that did the exact same thing was kinda funny but just makes you sigh that valve is letting this happen.

My main problem is that the bot never got experience in the first 8 minutes and still didn't get an abandon. Clearly this person is afk as he has no items, but the bot detection is very poor in dota.

they are too busy implementing mechanisms to punish ppl for trivial things and tweaking their chat report autoban algorithms. Oh and not to forget hats. Hats are more important than bot detection.

This is not a lesser evil, it is going to escalate into matches everywhere filled with bots. Since that means more chances to get that mythical, and even if you say some items go for 40 cents, others go for several dollars and thats why its dangerous not because the item will stop being rare but because people will flood the servers with bots just to get them.
