  • Valve, Please DONT call event with name is "CHINESE new year"

First, im sorry, my English not good.

Why call it with the name "chinese new year", That will make people think it's only available in China, and China is its owner (do not repeat such cases the East Sea, China has to spend money to do some mapping agency named it the South China sea), WE dont like that. China is not the owner of it, please do not call with a name like that. While this is a great festival of many Asian countries use the lunar calendar, why not to call it is "Lunar New Year". It's original name is Lunar New Year.

            Nice one

They didn't call the event Chineese new year
They just simply asked for artists who can create chineese new year and chineese history graphics

Sorry, but you just went full retard.

I'm pretty sure the event won't be called Chinese New Year, the same way we have Diretide instead of Halloween and Frostivus/Greeviling/Wraith Night instead of Christmas/New Year. The only reason Valve used "CNY" in their post was because more people are familiar with this term rather than "Lunar New Year" - most people will instantly understand the holiday in question without having to Google that.
Remember, remember the 1st of November

All Korea, Japan, China, Vietnam and other countries celebrate Lunar New Year, not only China. So it should not be called Chinese New Year. It doesn't belong to China.
