Actually, you've admited to the former; you're venting. Or, well, as you put it "sharing your insights." Which happen to contain no thought put forward to how region locking affects players globally. So, congrats, your insights have as much worth as a post made by rager #2321434 who comes here to complain about foreigners in their games.

How about, I'm neither. I posted because I'm a customer, and the game is made for customers, and after a solid year of playing, I finally got around to sharing my insight, there's nothing arbitrary about it, there's someone who's right, and someone who's wrong. I'm right in my OP, and you disagreeing makes you wrong. Communication is key in winning dota, and current language issues are a massive problem. Disagreeing with this just makes you a fool.

I'm not disagreeing that team communication is an important part of dota. I'm disagreeing with the notion that you (or whoever else comes here making the same claim) not being satisfied with your pub matches warrants a change that affects the whole dota community negatively.

Also, region locking doesn't stagnate a game's competitive scene, AT ALL. SC2 is one of the most competitive games on the market, and is region locked. Using circular reasoning because you're unable to admit when you're wrong... like I said previously, you're incorrigible, and I don't waste my time with people who can't admit they're wrong.

Sure, mate. Tournaments will be real exciting when players only know how to deal with their own region's meta.

I said you didn't put any thought forward as to how region locking affects the community globally, which is clearly demonstrated by your responding "I don't care" when presented to the fact that several players are forced to play in foreign servers due to ping issues. A clear cop out to the fact you just didn't know about it.

Like I said, I agree communication in dota is an important aspect. The question is: Does improving communication in solo ranked matches warrants impeding the whole community from playing with one another? The answer is no.

Even when and if all players get good regional servers, it still doesn't warrant region locking because a few players can't figure out that they're still playing casually, even on ranked, as long as they're not playing in a 5-man stack and shouldn't expect perfect matches 24/7.
