    comment on this particular one: Losing team is highly expected to lose by the system. Now what does the losing team did to deserve to be matched in such game? -8 points is still valuable to them.
    Risk/reward.
    High risk, high reward.

    I think players should be informed where they stand at the begining of the game(but after loading), but still - it works, unless you care about pub winrate like some lowiq's.

    your rating increases if system cannot promote you to a higher level, say you now have 7k rating and there is no any other human player that is close to that rating means that you will start facing stronger opponents but for the sake of averaging ratings now you will have weaker teammates. System can as well decide you to gain only a small rating by assigning you the strongest teammates possible but also system could arrange such match that the outcome of that match will be either -25 rating or +25 rating. As a ,say, 7k rated player if the result of a match he plays is +/-25 rating means exactly that he had weaker teammates compared to opponent team. If he had a very small gain at the end of a winning match means that system neglected the fact that he is the highest rated player in the entire community and thought him as a 6k or so.
    mmr is not created from air. Every single point above 3000 has to be "donated" from someone else, and the higher your current point count is - the better opponents you need to win to go further.

    3000 guys "farm" mmr from the news;
    3500 guys "farm" mmr from these above;
    and so on.

    Obviously, it becames harder and harder to keep moving up after you can't find opponents of equal mmr.

    5: Obviously if your rating goes up (from 3000 to 3100 for example), there aren't any players of similar MMR to match up with, thus you get matched with noobs. Am I right? *trollface

    4 and 5 are wrong.
    You forgot about uncertainty at 4, uncertainty works like this:
    if you were expected to win bu lose,your uncertainty level grows thus you recieve a higher amount of - points,same goes for the other way around. Look at singsing for example if he wins he gets 0 or 1 points and if he loses he loses 40 points.

    About 5,there's no elo hell man,sorry.

    started a topic Assumption about ranked matchmaking

    Assumption about ranked matchmaking

    1) if both teams have equal or very close rating average the result of a gain/loss in rating at the end of the match will be 25 points
    2) the team in favor to win will gain lower rating than 25 if wins and will lose more than 25 if the result is a loss for that team.
    3) extreme rating gains or losses occur when system can't find any suitable players to match then it results in a mismatch where the team that is not in favor to win is actually expected to lose, even though the rating loss will be like 1 digit, i.e: -8 rating they will still lose some points. at this point I want to stop my assumptions and comment on this particular one: Losing team is highly expected to lose by the system. Now what does the losing team did to deserve to be matched in such game? -8 points is still valuable to them. I can't see the logic behind it except it is caused by fast paced matchmaking under 2 mins.
    4)As your rating increases if system cannot promote you to a higher level, say you now have 7k rating and there is no any other human player that is close to that rating means that you will start facing stronger opponents but for the sake of averaging ratings now you will have weaker teammates.
    5) the contrary never happens at the moment on middle level rated players, say 5k+ rated players. Almost every result of a match is whether -25 or +25 meaning both teams can be averaged. This means you will never get beyond a certain rating because as you increase your rating the worse teammates you will have with every match. This will cause a cycle of rating with ups and downs, winning streaks following a losing streak.

    Anyways, there is no point in this thread I just wanted to know what you guys think about my assumptions whether they are true or not. I hope they are clear.
