unranked games are absolute troll fests.

ive only played 10 games of ranked, i prefer unranked, but unranked is literally unplayable when you put 5k rated players with people who have literally NO IDEA HOW TO PLAY DOTA

    http://dotabuff.com/matches/481485112

Lion has 20 hours of dota played. Now i know valve thinks they have this "anti smurf" system. but seriously, STOP PUTTING THEM WITH TOP LEVEL PLAYERS after this many games

Well now they have the ultimate excuse: "It's unranked after all, right?"

But yeah, their anti-smurf sensitivity has been an issue for quite a while. I (naively) thought it was fixed.
Remember, remember the 1st of November

antismurf off -- Noobs: Get them jerk smurfs out of my beginner games!!
antismurf on -- Pros: Get them feeder noobs out of my pro games!!

Unfortunately there is no sure way to detect a smurf. A player wins 5 games in a row, he could be a smurf, he could be a lucky noob, he could be a noob who has unusual talent but still a noob, the software cant tell.

So if you dont want noobs in your games, play ranked, it has level 13 requirement. That means you have to put up with all the tryhards and 5-stackers in ranked games. Not sure whats worse.

there should be a way to cap the anti smurf. like if it detects you might be a smurf, you shouldent play against players higher then 4k rating until you play more games. and if your still stomping in these games, then your team gets worse next game. (like it already does)

Had same exact thing happened in an unranked game few weeks ago. Currently at 4.5k mmr, and had a teammate who barely knew how to play dota with only 10 hours total gameplay hours. Extremely frustrating.

8 years later I still get paired with baddies on my team.

Its always going to be a gamble.

Also I got absolutely roflstomped my first 100 games of dota in bnet pubs, it just happens.

Valve doesn't care. Quality of the games played isn't a concern as long as people are playing and buying hats

                  Story:

Started playing Dota 6 months ago, played about 600 games, didnt take my first 100 games seriously, then i got serious but could never catch up on mmr. win percentage 45%.

So gave my items to a friends, deleted my account and started a new one two weeks ago( Just have one account ) won all first 10 games, atleast half my team in every game was people who have started new accounts.I Was having having games like 36K - 0D, I do feel bad for the new players, its unfair for them. But now after 120 games, my win percentage is 56% and im matches with much better players than my previous account, same level as me, games are fun, even getting better item drops.

I get your point, all the experienced players always complaining about noobs in their team....

                  shame -

What about all the noobs that have to face pro players in other teams.. they just want to learn.

The chances of you going up against a "pro" player are very very slim.

You also got to remember that the game has been around for a decade or so, so obviously there are going to be tons of experienced players, despite the influx of newbies thanks to the remake.

Dota is a game where everyone is always getting better, and asking for handholding mechanics and matchmaking systems just means you want to play like a noob with noobs, rather then getting better by playing with/against good players and getting better at the game.

When I first started, I got roflstomped by techies all the time, then when I tried to play him I sucked, thats when I started to take tips from others, learning about fog of war, ramps, wards, ect, ect.

Just go with the flow man, learn, what makes dota dota is the fact that it is so brutally soul crushing, yet extremely rewarding when you actually do amazing things.
