  • What is the point of this forum?

Every thread just seems to get locked. Want discuss "fun stuff" like strategy, specific heros, or anything else in-game? They'll tell you to go to playdota.com.

Need to vent over the same 5 issues in matchmaking that's been going on for months? Don't expect an official response from valve, a volunteer mod will just lock the thread.

Let's review what this forum is for:
    Forum: Community
Give feedback on all issues surrounding behavior in the community.

Since we don't have a forum for heros, in-game strategy, actual feedback (aka complaints), matchmaking, or even general discussion, here's some feed back: Despite all its flaws, this is still the best game I've played in a long time.

Back to 2011 or so when I joint that forums they seemed to have some point. Now I only come here to flame about the matchmaking and the mute system which are both the cancer of this game.

The community is useless, no idea why we still have it.

Community and misc sub-forums are dumping grounds for shitposts. The other sub-forums have devs constantly checking real bugs/issues in the game.

Mods just need to ban more people instead of allowing them to open 50 shit threads.

Because the "fun stuff" has nothing to do with the development of Dota 2. There are many forums to discuss such stuff, but this is simply not the point of this board. As many playdota users dislike Dota 2 it's not the best place to post it, but it was Icefrogs choice (at least I think so).

People reading the rules would actually know where to post their feedback without it being closed

Agreed. The issue is that we don't have an infraction system to properly keep track of spammers and do so by hand. Currently it's really hard to punish spammers, especially as our condition causes many other spammers to not be banned, creating a pretty unfair situation for some.
If you think I've closed or deleted a post unjustified, feel free to PM me and I'll explain it to you/discuss it with you further.
