  • Survey question on 30 second games

While the survey is a great idea (no sarcasm !), I found it odd that I had a CapMo game today where one of our own abandoned around 10-15 seconds in.
As soon as I disconnected a pop-up appeared asking me to rate the teamplay my teammates had. (not only was it Captain's Mode, but no heroes were selected and obviously not picked anyway... )

I really don't see a point of showing surveys for games that lasted less than 10 minutes.

    Just a suggestion

the surveys are to piss you off. they only really appear when you have a joke of a match.

*Everyone else on my team 0 or 1 kills with 10 deaths*

volvo: DID YOU ENJOY THIS MATCH?

Well duhh, of course I enjoy the challenge. It's right up there with my plans for juggling 15 Rubik's cubes while solving them on a horse that is drowning in water 15 miles out into the ocean.

obviously being nice and supporting in a match only to have your team feed massively and get ganked constantly despite senteys and observer wards is a good thing. It help you get better.

or a captain who asks what people want to play and gives a guy his drow vs riki and invoker. those matches are always fun

game was a total failboat just now... enemy went for a push line up and captain didn't listen. we lost in 30mins, 5 mins of that being dragged by farming kills... "how well did your team co-operate?" ... go die in a fire valve. you cocky pricks :|

I enjoy the surveys...they ask me how my team communication was... Guess what: I AM MUTED! ... So they want me to rate more than Very low? =))

Because it's meant to "learn" why you lost and evolve, matching you better?
Or this is how it should work

These points (survey on communication while being muted, survey on coordination after no hero was even picked) show that the employers on valve lack serious statistical knowledge and experiece. Or they filter them out when they make the analysis, in this case my first sentence is wrong.

Same thing with MM-System. They try to predict the outcome of a match by the MM only, wich obviouisly leads to more unstable results as if they would consider the hero playes (e.g. i only play axe and maiden, axe 0% win, maiden 100% win, obviously i dont have "a" MMR, but two.

Enemy team. captains mode. all of them over 1k hours played. my team? was the only one over 1k hours played. 3 people completely new. other guy had 500 hours. lost with a score of something like 40 - 1. asks how i enjoyed the match...
and valve wonder why they have so many ragers.

<sarcasm> they just as gud as you. you bad. git gud nub. </sarcasm>

Seriously though, this is mostly the difficulty of having good anti-smurf detection.
We need a player review system like Overwatch for DotA 2. Get real people to judge communication abuse, intentional skill abuse, and intentional feeding.

                      merci fenix

I know I am gettign OT on my own thread but I learned the major factor in fuxoring the MMR statistical prediction is when players random instead of pick. Since the MMr tries to profile you (i.e. a carry that goes mid, a support that jungles etc.) and you random heroes you get out of place. I might be wrong but I noticed I win games where players know what to pick (or counterpick) and lose games where my teammates just want the extra 200 gold and play "carry Lina" and "carry Witch Doctor" and taking LH from real carry.

                        On topic:
I seem to have ignited a small flame
I know the survey is annoying and that it has some weirdly timed questions (being pubstomped and asking if you enjoyed it), but the point of the post was something else.
