  • MMR Suggestion

    Suggestion:
Show the Teams' average rating ingame.

    Reason:
Many players use to play roles such as middle or carry. Thats okay, because the most people play it decent while playing on their own level of skill. But to my experience, people sometimes take part in games in which the average skill is far above or far below a player's personal skill. With knowing the Team's average rating (4500 for example), a lower rated player (let's say he has 3900) might give up playing middle, knowing he would lose bad against any player around 5k rating. In my own games, i often notice that players who dominated a recent game, feel like being superior in the next one, although the next game's average rating is 900above the recent one. Those games mostly end up with 5 players flaming each others and with at least one player who refuses to play seriously.
Of course, i can only speak for myself when i say, i would give away my usual roles when the average rating is 500 above mine, but i think many people would do so and MMR games' quality could be improved.

    thanks for attention
    best Regards
    Xandon

When RMM was just released and it was possible to see the MMRs of other people, most solo queuers in a game had very similar MMRs, with less than 100 MMR difference between the top-and bottom players. Stacks screw this up, but players within a stack know the MMR of each other, so if they wanna send the worst player mid, then that's the stack's problem and you can't do anything about it.

At the highest MMR ranges (>5500), there are so few players with that kind of MMR so they're forced to pair up with lower rated people. For the vast majority of the dota playing population, they'll never, ever encounter this problem.

So no, don't show the average MMR because it's pointless.
