  • To Valve's attention - Co-op abuse

It has come to my attention that people play Co-op games in order to increase their MMR. It seems that a win in Co-op games increases ones hidden MMR. While watching a game in Dota.tv (based on the players, it looks like a high MMR game), I noticed a poorly performing player, the Venomancer, and I checked his profile. He had only 11 wins (all in ranked play) and 11 pages of Co-op games in his Dota Profile. In the Co-op games the same items are build every game by the same people for ~120 Co-op games. The game ID is 559926923. I hope that Valve will change the MMR system so Co-op games will stop increasing the MMR of players.

Yes I didnt think it becomes a thing and would be a rare occurence but yesterday I got matched with such a person who was terribad with low win count. After being flamed by mates and enemies he left.

It's a known thing, before getting to lvl 13 and ranked games people play co-op bot and when they reach the calibration games they have an inflated MMR. The calibration games only "calibrate", they don't determine nothing, so their remain with the inflated mmr.

Valve should stop counting co-op bot as real games.

Co-Op or TMM doesn't affect the hidden rating in Normal Matchmaking or Ranked Matchmaking.

For those who can't speak English at all, in other words, it doesn't increase or decrease your rating at all.

It doesn't affect it directly, but it allows you to reach lvl 13 and the calibration games with an inflated and unreal mmr.

It is a known fact, people stack battle point boosters and use co-op games to reach lvl 13, then they end up with high mmr fast and guaranteed.
