  • Constructive Criticism.

    Hello.
I am an average player, and i try to win all of my games (even the ones that are hopelessly lost). I have recently reached a 50% winrate (playing mainly solo ranked captains draft), and i seem to have hit a wall. It was a very long slog up to 3.7k mmr (now down to ~3.4k) and most of the games i enjoyed even the ones that i lost, however recently i seem to be on an almost endless loosing spree. The matchmaking system works the way it does and i have no problem with that so it must be me.
I am always looking to better myself so i ask you (well some of you) to help me advance.
here is my Dotabuff profile: http://dotabuff.com/players/33059339

    Thanks

The game forces a 50% winrate on players. Winning too much will cause the game to intentionally pair you with players who are new to the game, and generally from foreign countries like Russia so that you lose. Then once you've lost enough, It'll let you win again
Also criticism and feedback isn't allowed on this feedback forum, the Nazi mods will close this thread to make sure it never makes it's way back to valve. Just a friendly heads-up.

all match makers inherently force a 50% win lose rate

Slight correction: All matchmaking algorithms "force" a 50% winrate, unless your skill is significantly different from the average skill. Fortunately for poster #2, his winrate is 50%, and not significantly lower than 50%, so at least he knows that he's not absolutely horrible at the game.

Stas if you want someone to watch your replays and help you improve you should go to: www.playdota.com or reddit.com/r/dota2
I think these 2 are better.
Other thing: There is no "forced 50%" thats bull**** but back to topic.

If you want to improve: "Play always 1 roll with the same hero (or heroes but not more than 3) and play ranked only with your best hero.
If you want to play an other hero go unranked

To improve faster: Go mid, solo offlane or carry only. (Mid>carry>offlane)

If you support or play always different heroes thats good but it wont help you with MMR.
Example: A Goalkeeper can play as Forward but will suck.

If you want to improve your party rating. A) Think about combos B) Always use the same combos (1 Midgame carry)
Example here: Bane+Mirana, Mirana+SD, Earth spirit + viper, venge, venom, sven (instant stun or slow)

TL,dr : If you want to have fun: Go unranked, and go full tryhard in ranked.

            Same here...
So, I'll give you some advice:
            1. If you lose 2 games in a row, STOP playing for at least 6 hours, or until the next day. Losing streaks are endless, I've tried it myself...12 Hours of play -> 3 wins 14 loses. or something like that.
            2. Very good that you play Captains Draft...best way to win in Ranked. But the most important factor in this game is the Captain, the draft influences the game's win chance a lot.
            3. Be careful at what day and hour are you queing. Example: Saturday and Sunday you will lose many... While in Weekdays you can win easier.
