  • Alright, this is becoming sickening

Every other ranked game now either has A) An intentional feeder(whether it be an mmr boosting plant, or a troll), or B) An AFKer in the fountain at 8 minutes, honestly I am about at the point to quit DotA over this. Valve really needs to take a serious look at how it handles people who get reported for intentional feeding as a simple report and move on is clearly not working.

A suggestion could possibly be a three strike system, whereas if you get sent to lpq 3 times for feeding within so many months, then you are prevented from playing MM, a little harsh, but it worked in Warcraft 3 with Banlists, and perhaps that is what is needed to fix what is literally becoming the next plague of this game.

Not possible with the current punishment system since is fully automated.

Then perhaps the system itself needs to be redone, as it currently isn't that effective. For example, right now, muted players are a very large handicap to a team, especially in ranked, whereas if someone has a problem with the way that they are talking you can local mute them instead of possibly harming future players that may not have a problem with that player.

For the most part, intentional feeders will continue to feed, and generally be a negative influence on the community, perhaps in the future there may be a way to handle those specific cases in a non-automated way.

With several hundreds of thousands people playing dota daily, say even 10% uses their 2 reports a week that still means they'd have to sift through like what, a 10~20k reports a week? If you are going to make it review by moderator then you'd have to have an army of mods reviewing all the reports and there are a lot of garbage reports. I don't like the current system, but don't really see how you'd work with an alternative.
Volvo, how the fk are we supposed to stick by the rules and not get reported if those rules are different for everyone and there is no one controlling at all why people are reporting someone? Either implement oversight or remove your utterly broken and useless report system

What? Poor Valve has to spend some of the money that gets thrown at them from all sides to actually improve the game? UNACCEPTABLE!

Perhaps something similar to League's tribunal system for low level punishments where players over a certain battle level decide. It seems to work over there, and the particularly severe cases are handed to Valve's moderators. That should cut out the vast majority of reports. That would also fix people getting reported by say a party because that person didn't do something that party liked.

And what exactly is the problem with this? Blizzard's has had game masters answer tickets for years.

Actually right now its pretty hard to get muted but idd, mute system sucks. If someone has a prob with someone report does nothing for him, since the mute is gonna apply on the next game. Manual muting is the best solution and its already there.

I have to say that I completely agree. I am almost done with this game.

DotaCash was so amazing.....and I loved Dota every minute I played on it. Why? If someone ever tried to pull this shit (game throwing, afking, trolling) all it took was a simple post to the forums. Once it was confirmed, bam, banned. If I recall they even had a limit on how long you could fountain farm. This was all done effectively with volunteer moderators. Could they make another account? Sure, but they couldn't be in your higher level games for a long time.

MMR is so incredibly volatile in Dota 2. I was calibrated at 4.3k, rose to 4.4, fell to less than 4.1, rose to 4.8, now have fallen back down to around 4.2. Is my skill level really that wildly fluctuating? The second I am able to raise my mmr (which as a role 4/5 player is so fucking difficult) I get game after game after game of feeder, troll, game thrower, mmr farmer till I'm back where I'm started.

Valve is a joke to not make their matchmaking system open, and to STILL give you a fixed number of reports per week. per WEEK? Don't they employ "the best of the best" at this company? How is it logical to give someone who plays 1 game a week and someone 50 games a week the same (small) number of reports?

The problem is I don't even care if I lose a game and these game ruiners are not in them. But they are fucking everywhere, and the punishment is so MINISCULE that they're back in ranked game in no time at all. /rant

Totally agree. You can accept a lot of things in games, you can rage, get annoyed, come back, try again. But what isn't okey, is when you have absolutely no input on whether you will enjoy the gaming. The constant unpunished feeding is a cancer of this game. Today I was gonna have a day of dota, buying a compendium and kicking back. Had one game and another feeder. Impossible to even improve your MMR no matter what you do. Now I've decided to fix my balcony and head out into town. Fuck this shit game.

till some one came up with scripts + ban bots ...

At the end of the day, the current way of dealing with "feeders" (no, its not that 0-20 cm, that helps the team by dieing so the carry can life longer) isnt really a good way to go about it.
