  • Blocking Players

I wish there were a way to limit the random players you play with based on name. For example, if someone has the word "d*ck" in their name, I don't want to play with them. There seem to be a growing number of players with words like this in their names.

It would also be good for blocking players you play with who are rude or intentionally feed...like my last game.

Does this exist or any chance of getting this in?

    No.

People change their steam names all the time.

Besides, if you ban "dick", what about Dick, d1ck, d11ck, dlck, di3k, deek, l3ick, etc?

When does it end? Freedom to set names is better than no freedom to set names. Stop the discrimination.

Yes, we should be able to choose players we get matched with based on their region/names/play style.

        .
        I think that's "bick"

        On topic

I think the name blocking is BULL, cause not every name is unique and people and change them. But why not then by dota acc?

Problem with banlist is at very high MMRs. If I am 5k on Australia and ban all the 4k+s on Australia then I will stomp every single game.

While name blocking would be ineffectual, I'd love for there to be a block system in place based on STEAM IDs.

They're all unique, and all Valve would have to do is put a small script in to check a list of open games vs. blocklists. Simple enough to write a database check that runs numbers they already have on file.
