I play DOTA 2 regularly for over 2 years now. Since my schedule only allows me to play at irregular hours each day, I'm not a member of a team and I only play with random strangers. Other players' disregard for accepting a game invitation (or whatever it's called) has been a problem for me since day one--you know, when the game asks if you want to accept a matchmaking. In many occasions people don't care about it and just make others wait. And why shouldn't they? After all, the only penalty for this kind of behavior is a 2 minutes ban from searching for a new match and then they're good to go again. I never do this and if I need to do something else (for example go to the toilet) I always stop the search and restart it when I'm back.

I don't know why but in the last couple months this situation has really gotten out of hand. Nowadays about 2 out of 3 (sometimes even 3 out of 4) matchmakings fail because someone doesn't give confirmation. The funny thing is, I don't spend a dime to this game because of this easily solvable problem. If they could establish a solid matchmaking system which doesn't punish punctual players like me and sell the game for $50 dollars, I'd gladly pay for it.

I would like to know the community's opinion about this subject. How do you feel when some as#hole makes you wait? Is there a way for us to inform the game's developers about this situation and demand a change? For example a more serious punishment can be given to AFK players and the ban duration can be increased from 2 mins to 20-30. This way, people would have no choice but to take matchmaking confirmations more seriously.

    1. You posted in the wrong thread zone... this should be in the Community tab, not fantasy Dota.
    2. You can't stop them...Unlimited account creation => unlimited trolls.
    3. No higher punishment is needed, you didn't lose anything... that's why High priority que is there. After someone declined, the search will prioritize you and you will enter a game faster.(but more unbalanced).
    This is how Dota2 games should look like! Game 1_Game 2_Game 3_Game 4_Game 5_Game 6
